Thread regarding SS&C Technologies layoffs

Referral requests??

Emails going out to tell people to refer their friends and family SS&C is hiring!

I'd love to know who hates their friends and family enough to ask them to apply. Those referral bonuses aren't enough to ruin relationships over.

It really is a question of perspective and salary, there are pockets of the company which are great to work in where things are interesting and never stale, the training is reasonable and opportunities abound. For example work in the call center and you are going to get cr-p pay and cr-p work, work in say risk and its a different ball park. Glad I left this place before it started to crumble.

Well, they should not have laid me off. I would not work for those people again. I was treated poorly, threatened by my boss, and never worked so hard for no advancement and minuscule pay raises. I towed the company line and thought I provided great value to the company. I guess they did not think much of me and my efforts, I don't think much of them.

Here’s a bizarre timeline:

10/30 - Ignites article - “SS&C CEO - We have robots so we don’t need to hire.”

10/31 - email from Recruitment asking us to refer friends because there are 70+ off the street positions needing filled immediately.

The company’s left hand has no clue what the right is doing. They have no idea how they’re perceived at this point, and that careless attitude is driving the company into the ground. Jump ship.

Amen. This place is the epitome of a toxic environment and poor management. We have even been encouraged to share SS&C job postings on LinkedIn. I’m actually surprised that more members of senior management haven’t left the company. I guess their bonuses were much more than any of the employees that actually doing the work.
