Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Bruce’s Email is a Warning for Layoffs

Did anyone else get a bad feeling based off of Bruce’s Monday email about inflation, rising costs, and debts?

• “Rising interest rates have a significant impact on government spending.”
• “The unsustainable increase in federal health spending has a direct impact on Humana…”
• “ We anticipate greater regulatory pressures ahead due to the exponential increase in the government debt.”
• “We need to double down at lowering our INTERNAL costs” (Meaning, our bonuses and pay raises will be next to nothing, and lots of layoffs are on the horizon.)

With many of our competitors doing layoffs off by the thousands, I can’t help but to feel like Humana will be next.

"A steady flow of hints that come next spring we won’t be as shocked to see little or zero AIP maybe??"

I'm budgeting for zeros in both AIP and Raise columns.

Not much I can do about it either, I hear the job market is BRUTAL.

Will be really interesting to see what Bruce’s golden parachute looks like at the end of ‘24 when he leaves.

And whether or not any of these cost cutting efforts look at executive compensation at all.

INTERNAL is probably hinting at the swollen ranks of managers and directors.

This is all legalized theft anyhow. The US spend two times more than other western countries on health care and the quality of health care is declining. I would estimate that that we spend twice as much on health care because we are paying Insurance companies to manage it. BBs salary and bonus would not be tolerated elsewhere in the world.

Definitely foreboding. His email was hysterical to me, not in a good way, kind of like “hey living expenses su-k (for us poor middle class people, not him), and now we’re going to have to cut your jobs”. J*rk.
