Outsource the board and offshore all upper management. We need to meet our financial promises right?

Why not just move headquarters to India? I bet an Indian CEO costs less than Geoff.

Quite a lot of these impacted are highly senior IT specialist and architects, they are actively recruited by Medtronic competitors right now.
While these incompetent newcomers so called leaders at IT had no clue of the depth of Medtronic institutional IT knowledge, they are focusing pennies outsourcing to equally clueless offshore India folks.This is a time bo-b, of course , when it blows up, the current CIO is long gone (after a couple of years.)
Medtronic competitors are happily absorbing Medtronic laid off IT senior talent, these competitors are not only saving money by getting MDT IT institutional knowledge for free, but also watching MDT’s ship sinking with IT brain drain.
If anyone believes India folks can pick up the in depth MDT IT institutional knowledge in a year with these “projected” 70% savings, then these folks are day dreaming. Check the stats on Boeing IT , please.
Good for MDT’s competitors, they are happily recruiting these US based IT senior level talent for free ( no non compete in this industry).
Just compare the stock price of BSX vs MDT, you see the writings on the wall. Pretty sad.
I heard the same thing from a few former co-workers. It's more outsourcing.
Geoff got excited by hearing that Minnesota was announced as a Med-Tech hub. He even dares to take some credit while actively putting more Minnesotans out of work.
JFC. What will that accomplish? To make the financials look a bit better?
