Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

If you’re burnt out, know that it’s not your fault

I know many people here are suffering from burnout, anxiety, and overwhelm. Please know that it’s not you, it’s the leadership that continues to disregard employee feedback and act in their own self-interest. Please seek the support you need for you and your family and know there are so many better employers and corporate cultures than Fiserv.

In case you’re wondering about the definition burnout, it is “a psychological syndrome emerging as a prolonged response to chronic interpersonal stressors on the job. The three key dimensions of this response are an overwhelming exhaustion, feelings of cynicism and detachment from the job, and a sense of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment.”

Take care.

This is the best post I’ve seen on here. For someone with other health related issues cancer specifically this job is jeopardizing my quality of what life I have left. I don’t use the companies hand outs on mental health bc I don’t trust that they wouldn’t use it against me and I need my job to make it right now.

I kindly recommend Fiserv’s EASE programs - hopefully it provides some type of help.
PS: I’m not from HR, I’m just another concerned Fiserv associate.

Work your 8 hours Monday-Friday and nothing more. You owe nothing more to this company than that.

Learn to say no to excessive demand. No one can help you but yourself. This place is toxic, just look at who are in the management positions.

The negative effects of burnout creep into all aspects of your life whether you realize it or not. I didn’t realize until I left just how much it was negatively impacting me. Change is hard but sometimes it’s the absolute best thing you can do for your overall health and personal relationships.

Agree 100%
I retired recently due to burnout (after 27 years)… that place is toxic and I don’t think it will ever change. Everyone is afraid of making a mistake, being laid off, relocated or moved to a different area….Even managers.
Anxiety, uncertainty and stress at work led to insomnia and lots of drinking at home. Finally getting back to normal.
GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN!
