Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Having a masters degree gets you not considered

Has anyone had a masters level degree and applied for multiple positions and not be considered for the role? As if you are overqualified.

Have you had to remove your masters credentials to get a role within Humana?

I had a masters degree, had prior experience as a social worker in health care...& COULD NOT get another role after starting in the medicare call center eons ago. It was finally revealed for both the individual side, as well as the group side...the MANAGERS were preventing any promotions or role changes. I forgot how many applications I'd made, special jobs, etc, or days given for other projects...but no internal promo.
The place is sick.
Not at all surprised now the entire company is tanking.
Take care of yourself out there!

It is more likely the abysmal HR review and processing that is disqualifying you for the role before the hiring manager even sees it. Be sure to read the job description and match your resume/skills to everything they are looking for, as far as possible. I have never heard of anyone not being considered for having a Master's degree or otherwise being overqualified.

Not sure why you would even be trying for something within Humana. Take your degree and go somewhere safer. Living in constant fear of being riffed is life within this company
