Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Tuesday

If you make it past this day, you should be safe for all of 2023, until it all starts again in January.

Meanwhile, if you have a scheduled meeting with your boss tomorrow, good luck my friend.

Oracle has been consistently laying off people for many years, and especially since 2015. That’s a full 8 years and counting! So anyone who chooses (yes, CHOOSES!) to stay at Oracle to worry and fret daily if they will still have job the next morning is a total buffoon and deserves what they’re getting.

Well, sure, that is a concern if you are going for qualified people.

Just be flexible and drop that little requirement - you might be surprised how many people you can hire.

"Strategy is to replace US employees with cheaper resource from other countries."

hahahaha they tried that by opening a new support center in mexico and all of the qualified people down there wanted more money & benefits than what O. was currently paying the older legacy crowd in Orlando & Colorado. Good luck with that.

IMHO, if O can't promote an employee even after 5 yrs of good performance, it's better to resign or get laid off. No point sticking further and listening BS. Many reported this case in O.

After many years of firing in CX & OCI, profits are not increasing. Its obvious but so called smart people with inflated titles are not able to figure it out at Oracle. LOL

Near zero growth for 90% in US. No personal life. Long working hours and you would gain experience in technologies that will hurt future career, especially in FA.

Strategy is to replace US employees with cheaper resource from other countries. Hope others who are stuck can anticipate or burnout.

Agree with the OP. Gonna hit my two years in January and get some Azure certs this month. I’m going to be so co--y moving forward knowing I can get a higher paying job within 90 days. Glad the “paying my dues” period is over.
