Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Does Severance Package Change?

According to the Truist Benefit official website, employees who get laid off can get an extra 1 month pay.

But there’s a post suggesting the company is taking that 1 month pay away. Is it true and can a company do that without changing the announcement on the website? Does that also apply to international employees who will rely on a job to stay in USA, meaning once they get laid off they need to get the fu-k out of USA once the visa grace period expired?

The previous person said you can contact EEOC or Department of Labor for clarification. I have heard the thing, it's not a requirement.

Severance isn't going anywhere. They have this cost built in. Even though this place is a dumpster fire if they did that they'd be screwed. The reputational risk is too much and no talent would come to Truist. The poster below is full of it.

SEVERANCE PACKAGES ARE NOT GUARANTEED, EVEN IF IT ON THE WEBSITE. A COMPANY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE THIS TO THIER EMPLOYEES. * IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, REACH OUT TO EEOC OR THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR THEY WILL TELL YOU. THERE IS NO LAW REQUIRING THIS AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT, I DON'T HOW MAY YEARS IN. SORRY FOR ALL OF YOU WAITING AROUND FOR IT.**

As if manager will know any better….. they themselves likely say a small prayer to Lord before starting the days work

"It still confuses me with severance
So after layoff employee will get at least 8 weeks of pay check, right?"

You could probably get a more accurate answer by asking your manager at your next 1v1. Tell them you're worried and curious what the payouts and terms are. I'm realizing that policies around severance aren't uniform across teams.

"Hey Miyagi Do….shut up.

Not defending that person but you shouldn't expect any insights or answers on a sketchy forum like this that doesn't even require email verification. This is exactly where these trolls play.

I'm convinced half these messages/posts are made to cause volatility in Truist stock so that person can make a buck.

No change to severance package . You just have to work less after being notified.

The more things change the more they stay the same. SunTrust has risen from the ashes.
