E. Lee is an extremely smart banker. However, her skill set is better suited for the credit team. I took her out to see a very large, high value client. Later that same month, the client commented he thought she was arrogant and unapproachable. The GWR needs a RP who is dynamic and can positively impact the community. For example, rather than give out corporate checks can Lee use her community contacts to raise and fund a several million dollar community need? No, it is not happening. An effective RP motivates teammates, clients and community leaders. Lee and Truist cannot buy market share. This all comes from Bill Rogers and B. Cummins who are second rate bankers. Do you see BR being interviewed on the top business news shows? Nope.

TR doesn’t have time to lead. He’s too busy pretending he’s Oprah with all those checks he’s passing out!

Is Virginia still for lovers? This State sounds dysfunctional.

Waiting to get what bonus? You must be kidding yourself. They will RIF anyone that deserves a bonus and let the others quit when they receive their subscription to the jelly of the month club. Wake up, or then again, if you are still there, you’ve already mentally quit or frankly are part of the problem.

Not only should you consider the time at the country club, you may want to take a look at who pays the bills on those memberships. Legacy BBt allowed all those cats to sign up to the most prestigious clubs in their respective cities. Six figure joining fees and all that comes with it, borne by the shareholders.

When I started reading this thread I thought it was going to be about Northern Virginia (and general GWR) - Other than the golf references you could easily substitute the GW RP. Not sure she plays golf (at least TR has an excuse for being disengaged as wrong a reason that is) but she has Extremely weak/non-existent leadership skills. Absolutely the wrong person for this important role. Morale is low and everyone I know is waiting to get their bonus (if there is one) and actively looking to jump the sinking ship soon thereafter.

Oooops Typo: Glad my RP is not doing the stuff TR seems to be doing.

I have two close peers who work with Truist. Both are previous Sterling Performers. Both are aggressively looking to jump ship. Glad my RP is doing the stuff TR seems to be doing.

TR’s golf outings are a great point. How much is this costing SunTruist? What specific business has been closed because of TR’s efforts? Is this an example of BR’s cost cutting plan? Senior Management should be paying attention to this…..

TR is for TR…fake leadership. Do you honestly think he is there to help us? Every time he is out on the golf course he is choosing to not be available to help a teammate. How many times has he played golf this year on company time? Developing business? Yeah, right. Take a client golfing on the weekends. TR needs to start setting the example for others. If TR does it then you should be able to do it. The performance of the Virginia Markets needs improvement.

TR is yet another DEI placement, a complete empty suit that checks a lot of the boxes that matter to a non-profit bank like Truist. Sad thing is, there are some incredibly talented bankers in that region, and they will slip away working for someone with no leadership skills. Look at his posts on LI and you see that TR loves him some TR. Give him credit though, he packs a full schedule handing out all those checks while playing golf at Kinloch twice a week.

Do we have leadership in Virginia? Morale is in the basement. Total disengagement.
