Is that typical or are they just hoping people forget and then realize it’s too late after the window is gone?

So what do you do when they want you to review it within 45 days but your separation date is more than that? Are they trying to sc--w us over?
I don't think this is a trick. But I don't know the legal justification for sure.
No you can’t send it back UNTIL the separation date. This is a standard process that protects both parties. For example, say you sign and return it today and next week you get se-----y harassed by an employee. You are still legally entitled to sue because your actual employment hasn’t expired yet. That’s why they want it returned only on or after the separation date so you can certify that you’ve been paid all wages due to you and there are no other outstanding issues.
Not taking chances. Mailing mine back with tracking. I think we have until our separation date to send the signed copy back.
Is it return by email? Create a draft and schedule it to send from your work and personal email just in case. Not sure why they would do that though
