Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Today was a glorious day

I slept in. I got a great work out. Had lunch with my family. Did a little Christmas shopping. And not once did I stress about being on meetings that went nowhere wanting to bang my head against the wall.

Talk to a lawyer if you feel unsafe or unsure about any documents you’re being asked to sign.

I just gave my week notice of resignation and HR send me so many documents and it’s asking me to sign some documents but I found it very weird and I don’t feel safe doing it. Do I really need to sign anything after giving my resignation?

Same here. I liked the team but everyone privately admitted to me they all worked nights and weekends to keep up.

So I was starting to burn out there. I was actually relieved when I got the news. With the severance package it's not a bad deal and I feel pretty much OK about it

It’s true that companies don’t have to give you anything but the reason for doing so is mainly to avoid a PR nightmare. Since the severance includes a non-disparagement clause, most people (myself included) are fine not bad mouthing the company if it means getting an extra few months of pay.

Imagine if they didn’t offer severance at all. It would be all over the news and the bad press could tank the stock price even more.

Future layoffs may not even include these severance considerations. To those who aren’t aware, companies don’t have to give you anything when they eliminate your job. Congratulations on a good nights sleep after all these years!

Rightly said, More work with same/less pay will lead to quitting of more employees.

It’s a glorious feeling. He-l I wanted to quit instead TU paid me. I may be unemployed, it may be stressing at times but mentally I am happier, I am sleeping. Transunion is a toxic environment with bad leaders. When I got the news I was sad for the loyalty I gave the company but after I hung up I felt relieved.

I have people still texting me about how bad it is and how unreal it is. Guess what it only gonna get worse cause someone gonna pick up that slack with all these layoffs… more work no pay.
