Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Manager is Remote, but how?

One the managers I work with time to time is remote [UK] but she’s always on her teams butt to be on time at the BH office and stay 8 hours. Yet she works from home and has zero commute or anything like that.

I’m a tad confused why there are managers that are still remote.

Does anyone know when remote

The original First Data acquired a card processor in the UK in 1990 which took the Omaha based company global. That is why the new Fiserv cares about the UK.

nope same rules also apply in Europe, the 3 days and eventually 4 days was announced at the same time as in USA

Basically, people who have to be in the office because of threats from HR envy remote workers.
I asked my manager about it and in story short he told me that Fiserv is not offering remote to any new or current employee and the remote exception is only to be on some unique kind of skilled employee which is absolutely hard to replace.

I guess that the managers is the heart and brain of entire project, documentation is either non existent or out of date and loosing him/her would set back project for months or years. If you want to stay in the company make yourself irreplaceable with unnecesary complex solutions without documentation!

My boss was remote too. I'm not sure how they decided on who could be remote and who would be Forced RTO. It made about as much sense as throwing darts at a board to see where they hit.

My boss is remote. He os being forced to move to Berkeley Heights, NJ or lose his job. He travels a lot to banks ans other Fiserv offices so I wouldn't want his job. No one is immune yo moving to the company desired center of excellence die yo the tax breaks.

This is the typical "lead from behind", Fiserv style. Why would you be surprised?

I don't understand the "I dont want to go into the office" and at the same time complaining when someone is fortunate enough to work remote.

Some folks are handicapped and cannot make the two hours trip to work. They still offer experience and work the hours.

Others have talents that cannot be learned in 6 months and remain remote working with this he-l hole of a company.

Grow up!

What is being required in the US is not the same as what is being required in other countries. Plenty of remote jobs open outside the US. Only US employees are being forced into office and relocation.
Why are they on their US employees to be in the office for specific # of days and specific # of hours? That is the order being handed down from senior management and being forced to enforce it. There are badge in/out reports to make sure these conditions are being met.

The managers who are "preferred" get special treatment.

Then there are others, like you, who must comply with the rules.

If you are looking for things like "logic" or "fairness", then you are working for the wrong company.
