Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Mid year review or layoff or promotion

My manager asked me to share the key works that i have done in past 6 months.
Wondering why he is asking for that. Is that for mid year review or anything bad.
I feel I am key member of our team, but that doesn’t matter to higher management.

Even if you do not create a status report and your manager does not know your contributions, I am wondering what is he managing? He seems like a real boss pet there to satisfy boss ego

Do you write status reports each month? If you do, why would your manager ask you what you've been up to?

My word! Get out of Oracle NOW! Why on earth are you having to live with this constant worry of losing your job? There are so many other companies who would want you and will offer you more money and more job security.

I was one of those Oracle people who did not want to leave the company, but yet I hated my job and the guy I reported to. I left Oracle a few years ago and have never regretted doing so. I make a ton more money, but most importantly I am respected by my management and I feel valued as a contributor. Never had that at Oracle.

Oracle managers and dirrgots are at the level of that liquid that comes off a scab that hasn’t hardened yet. They are absolutely the bottom of milk carton when it comes to any type of mgmt of any company. I would equate them to the people who worked for the Ge----o.

You can never tell with Managers. Your best bet is to do your work and stay updated with marketable skills.
