Is anyone else cobra medical higher than what you were paying? CVS is paying their same portion but my portion is a little higher (about $20+) than what I was paying before. (Dental and Vision are higher too just not as much) Does anyone know why?

For the person who gave 1400 - is that individual or family?
I'm happy with my amount. Better than the 1400.00 it will go to after severance us over
Yes they are subsidizing the same portion they did while we were active employees (which I think is roughly 75%) up until the end of our severance. And we pay what we were paying while we were active employees (which was roughly 25%). Say you were paying $300 a month ($150 twice a month) for medical, why is it now $320’ish a month with cobra? That’s more than 2%
fyi… and yes after they stop subsidizing at the end of severance it sky-rockets to something crazy.
CVS is subsiding during severance period
how are you only paying $20 more with COBRA?
Former employers are allowed to charge you a 2% administrative fee and also are not required to kick in their subsidies (some do). So if for example you paid $80 for individual benefits and CVS paid $20, they could charge you $102 for COBRA coverage. Of course this will vary. Good luck to you and enjoy your weekend.
COBRA is always higher. Like exorbitant. It is a government requirement. Find another job or find another plan.
