I could've stayed at Follett and dealed with all the cr-p they threw at us but when they took away my people - they took the only thing that kept me there. My staff who I enjoyed working with and loved working rush with and just looking at the long lines and smiling. It was hard work but it was fun with our little circle. When they took that away I knew it was time to leave.

I’m glad they laid me off a year ago. Doing a lot better for sure. There is a better life after Follett.
Their answer might be think out of the box? Well one has to be able to get out of the box to think of a way to do things differently. I just love how the weeniesinthe tower keep saying things are rosy and going to get better. They are staying in their box I think?
Would love to have someone come down from the Ivory Tower and tell me how they handled this when they were in charge at store level.
Therein lies the problem. Most of them are outside hires from failed big box stores. They've never set foot in a store as an employee, just as a c-suite mucky muck.
Well I enjoyed the stress of rush then the hours and temps were axed. Then Spring came and less hours were available and no temps. Then the restructure. Since then the store has sufferEd greatly, the outside help with text and a/r has been a nightmare, and now the hours are cut again, and adoptions are due for Spring. If I ever get out from the chargebacks of way more tHan I ever needed and did not sell I might stay awhile. Would love to have someone come down from the Ivory Tower and tell me how they handled this when they were in charge at store level.
