Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Corporate Math at AT&T - I’ll go first!

Corporate math at AT&T is not having the funds to build a solution right the first time but having the funds to fix it!

Corporate math at AT&T is having your CEO make the top list of most paid CEOs but not having the money to backfill due to RTO separations and still not calling it a “layoff”.

"T-Math is selling real estate holdings during the pandemic for bottom dollar, then launching RTO and having to re-lease new office space (and millions more to renovate and re-outfit workstations with new monitors). But hey, we’re collaboratively mocking the CEO in the office, then leaving at 2pm to beat traffic."

creative financing- probably doing it to get more money from government for some stupid thing like you will own nothing and be happy.

One of my favorites, the $50.00 in supplies to maintain equipment is not available in the budget, but the $50,000 to replace the equipment when it fails because couldn’t get the supplies to maintain it is. Of course it also goes along with, it’s not the person’s fault for denying the request, it’s the person’s fault that couldn’t get the tools and materials to maintain it that is at fault.

We are always a penny wise and thousands of dollars stupid.
We keep the network running inspite of the company’s best efforts.

Three days of WFH is 30 hours of work. Three office days is about 20 hours of work.

Every Single VP has a Powerpoint Magic Trick that turns their organization's incompetence into a profitable, cost reducing, well-oiled machine. Fancy charts, graphs, arrows pointing all over the place is a true sign of success and profit. And don't forget the buzz words. Growth, Synergies, Collaboration, Execution are always great with a bold swirly arrow of some sort.
