Interesting. Managers are told what % of direct reports can be listed as exceeds, meets, & does not meet. It is not a true valuation of contribution but a metric to facilitate staff reduction. Walking a razor thin legal tightrope…

@vyj+1p8oz6bw It wasn’t IT. It was your leadership slacking on approvals

Mine did not mention performance (it said something along the lines of “lack of work” but I was laid off 4 months ago so maybe it’s something they recently started doing?

If they use job performance they can fight any future unemployment claims

“My severance package” — how GREAT does that sound? I’ll take it. I earned it. I don’t care what the words say because it does not matter. Gladly accept the severance money and go on my merry way. Thanks Wells Fargo!

They all say that. I was always an exceeds or consistently exceeds and mine said it.

Alot of the displacements where likely tied to midyear MPP. If you got anything less than a "meets"... Then you likely where a holdover layoff from June. If you got a new manager after June layoffs, then got a low review for midyear, while having good enough numbers...lawyer up. Charlie did a force ranking thing, (carried over from days with BNY)...and your direct manager had to stack the people. The lack of oversight with personal opinions on your manager could have been the reason for your displacement. But then again...what do I know.... Talk to an attorney. I know that CA had more robust laws about wrongful termination, but a lot of them are still present in NC, AZ, MN and CO... Just not as easily known.

they said that on mine as well as justifying that it wasn't my age.

I didn't give two s*its as I as going to retire...... if they only waited 5 months, they wouldn't have had to pay anything................ well, except pension/cash balance plan.

Sounds like they say it to protect themselves legally. Wonder how easy it is to come back to the bank with that. On the other hand, who would want to come back anyway in general & after they put that on the paperwork? Agree, it's a s------y thing to do. No empathy or EQ. Typical.

Mine said that too and I always passed quality tests with every closing and meets and exceeds expectations every year. My co-worker who was out for 2 months with ankle surgery and calls in sick all the time didn't get the memo. Not sure how they roll the dice but maybe it's like "bingo"
