Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Earnings ahoy

Good thread, one line in particular is the most logical explanation for the 'delay'

Just remember none of this has anything to do with employees, culture, orgs, jobs, functions...they are very much 'fighting' for the viability of the entity at this point.

It wouldn’t even come close and they can always borrow more. This is a stupid theory. The layoffs are on schedule. The releasing it 3 months ago is to impress analysts despite absolutely nothing ready.

@rnc+1p6JSi5x Maybe the thinking is the cost of the WARN period, severance, pto payouts, etc. would take a lot of the cash on hand and put Schwab below regulatory requirements.

Anyone can explain this statement: “they can’t execute the cuts” …. “will put them tighter to capital distributions limitations by the regulator”…

what limitations does the regulator enforce on capital distributions?

Did they not think this whole thing through? That says a lot about how the company is being run
