I was affected by this after 18 years with the bank. Working only salary based averaging 60+ hours a week just to keep your head above water. That’s right, overtime with no pay and no reprieve besides a lay off. Staffing issues was the biggest problem to begin with. And instead of hiring more, they get rid of more?? Their focus is nothing but putting money in the pockets of the higher ups. There were and are so many alternate ways they could’ve cut back on expenses like stop buying unnecessary property, asking us to donate the money we barely had, programs that make no difference, etc. If you look at their salaries which are available online, right there could’ve helped with this “reduction in costs”. Especially with a 247:1 CEO to employee compensation ratio. Now people who weren’t even making $60k are left with nothing but to figure out how they will be able to support their families. The amount of bs they attempt to feed us about “how well” the bank is doing, is just comical and it’s offensive to think we couldn’t see through their lies. Many things they’ve said were disrespectful and offensive. How can you run a business when you’re canning the people who make the business run?? Yes, it’s easier than to take a pay cut and not be able to take your yacht out every weekend. At one point I was proud to work for PNC but even before this, I lost all respect as I watched the focus go from building a successful place to profitability for the higher ups. Dig deep, and you’ll find more than you could ever imagine. The way the lay off was done was so disgusting. They were done by an anonymous webex. Even the managers didn’t have anything to say. The most we got was “so when can you drop off your equipment and pick up your stuff?” This isn’t a post of retaliation. This is a post of the actual truth, something PNC has a problem with telling. It’s a huge disappointment.

So sorry you were treated this way. From my perspective, PNC has never been a good place to work. They are not what they say they are. Good luck to you!
