Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Am I missing something about our leader?

Was on a team call and there was discussion of Stankey’s speech today - couldn’t attend myself. Anyway our AVP and one of the L3s could not stop fawning over it and talking about how great he is and the L3 talked about how fired up about the company she is when she hears him speak.

I don’t get this. Only been here a few years and was willing to give the benefit of the doubt since they at least had the sense to realize how bad the DTV and Warner acquisitions were and cut bait on them.

However, the backdoor layoff/RTO and the insane BS messaging campaign that still goes on around this (the L3 talked about all the great learning opportunities or something while wasting money commuting) ki-led any trust I may have had in leadership. I also see no reason to change my view after seeing other recent id--tic decisions that have only hurt productivity in the name of cost cutting or who knows what.

Question is what do these people see in Stankey? Is there some magic that I am missing here? I have worked for some truly outstanding leaders at other places and he and a lot of the sr leadership are not among them.

It has been clear Stankey is making sure anyone who is 40+, with 15 years & up of service, may as well leave now, or they will be cut. He is constantly confirming this message with his Town Hall mtgs. All of the 20ty yr olds sit at the think table, discussing personal info & when they plan on leaving. These new young hires are a joke & only stay for 3-6 months, then move to another Company. Stankey needs to go now & allow a young Executive to take his job. The Board has made, so many bad decisions & put the Company in so much debt. However, Stanley & Board does not take pay, or bonus reductions to pay for their mistakes. However, they are quick to take money & jobs away from the employees. The Company is still funding the luxuries of Stankey & the others. You don’t see members of the Board being replaced with younger executives.

How old is your L3? I bet they are still angling for a corner office.

Your leadership is full of cr-p. Stankey has bankrupted an American blue chip. Don’t believe anyone who tells you anything different.

Stankey gets a lot of flack, but he was really inspiring today when speaking to the ERG:s. Make sure to look for the replay.

Just there just mo--nic lemmings...they do it out of fear. People who become sycophants like that honestly believe it is necessary and you have to get behind the leader and be a good follower for survival.

They fear for their own jobs and their future and so they are ba----g the drum in the hopes that their leadership will notice and their job will be safe....

RTO is the best. We should have never been WFH. Even with the so called flu.
