Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

My Hero

The woman who stood up in the meeting today and asked Stankey "Did you leave out the Boomers on purpose" is my hero. If we had more people that asked questions like that we'd have a much better culture.

Don’t out the C-suite like that, they have a lot of sporting events and redundant PPT. meetings to attend. It’s not exactly nothing.

We need lots of cuts. Too many workers having no work and doing nothing.

" What happened? Why was boomer left out?"

He polled the audience at the beginning of his speech. "How many Gen Xers do we have here today? How many Gen Y? Millennials? " etc. etc. Left out Boomers.

20 minutes later in the Q&A some older absolute baller of a lady got on the mic and asked him if "he intentionally left the Boomers out...".

It was great to see.

Speaking of Perennials, a best practice for presentations is to “plant” people in the audience with softball questions. Stankey, you can keep that idea for free. I know your $22M salary is spread pretty thin as you rob the people who built this fly-wheel for you and the reward is you throwing a monkey wrench in the gearbox every year.

"...I appreciated what she said, but I didn’t think it was anything she’d get fired over..."

Maybe people are overreacting a bit. Maybe.

That said, you could see that it made Stank visibly uncomfortable. And he got defensive.
You could tell that he recognized it was a subtle jab at him, based on his comments not only earlier, but also a couple months ago.

And he did not like it.

Stanky doesn’t like pushback, other ideas or input when he is speaking, ask McElfresh.

For those saying she has a target on her back etc.. I appreciated what she said, but I didn’t think it was anything she’d get fired over.. did I miss something?

They will hunt her down like a wild animal, then remove her from payroll. If you think Stankey is going to tolerate this kind of behavior, you got another thing coming.

Welp, I’m sure HR paid her a visit afterwards and/or her boss had a call. Brave yes.

My hero! I’m sure she doesn’t care. Truth to power, it has to be said, it’s things they don’t want to hear, they want you to just shut up and follow orders, if you don’t like it then quit, is their mantra. Been here as long as Stanky, not leaving.
