Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

EC Roundtable

All Phoenix employees just received an invite to EC Roundtable on November 14...should be interesting. If anything, I guess it can be guaranteed layoffs & reorg happen before then.

My leadership has also said that layoffs will be a mixture of laying off a majority of under-performing reps and also some higher paid reps as they have to let go of a certain $ amount of total reps...should be interesting...

I'm genuinely curious how these 'roundtables' will go. I'm very tempted to sign up for some just to tell the emperor that he's buck-a$$ nekkid. But I'm guessing it'll be an hour of some EC pontificating on the purported values of Schwab with little to no actual input from the peons.

@1uub+1p2LAHxL More like the client based eliminations will be merit based and the others… not so much. Schwab wants their bread winners to stay and it isn’t as easy to fake BS performance metrics with client facing positions. Either the customer is satisfied or isn’t, and you either bring new clients on board or you don’t.

HR please do it before OCT 25th before the annual enrollment ends. Husband and wife schwabies. If one of us lose our jobs the other can sign up for benefits.

Yes...I think the majority of us were under the impression it would be non client facing. Turns out that every organization will be affected, maybe some more than others. But just because you are client facing or even a high performer, doesn't mean much. Confirmed by two RMEs and multiple BMs

I thought that financial reps wouldn’t be touched? Like majority of layoffs would be non client facing?

Went to the Phoenix project team. Expect we will be told about the reorg after the layoff is done

@ydy+1p2LAHxL If they are pulling the trigger next week then the list has already been made.

Could it also be a test? Those that engage with email and reserve timeslot put into the "Potential Keep" pile and those that ignore and do not attempt to schedule for round table slot put into "Likely Layoff" pile?
Would be a very interesting way to quickly gauge engagement and establish quick sort.

Would be interesting to know WHO received this? Would it make sense to send out to those they knew would be gone by then? Curious....
