Thread regarding PNC layoffs

Did everybody know this was coming?

Am I the only one who was completely caught off guard by this?

Completely off guard. I agree with losing trust. Scared there will be more. I don’t have any kind of savings and keep my family of 5 afloat.

I had a suspicion when they forced return to office basically overnight. They tried to start return to office a few years ago, and when everyone was starting to leave they backpedaled really fast. When they did it this time they just forced it and didn't care. I think it was it was basically a soft layoff where people would voluntarily start leaving the company so they didn't have to pay severance. After they couldn't get any more people to leave on their own, that's when they started the actual layoffs.

In my effort to doom scroll I saw this get mentioned on 9/12 - https://x.com/BankerWeimar/status/1701690801531548146?s=20.

Personally, I had no clue and was completely caught off guard. Also interesting when you consider how they just bought Signature Bank's loans for ~17 bil

Off guard as well. Not laid off but lost trust in this company and executives. Will be giving the bare minimum to meet expectations from here on out

There will be more, they always go in waves. Expect more by end of week/month/year. I've been through too many of these.

Totally caught off guard by the wave of recent layoffs, thankfully I didn't laid off but at the end of the day "Everyone" is expendable!!!
