Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Friendly reminder

After leaving Fiserv, you may probably go back in memory lane and look at all your wonderful times you spent at Fiserv, then quickly you move on and you will be very happy. The folks who may be are uprooting their families to Lincoln or HB, may be doing this for the wrong reason and you may pay a hefty price once you are laid off:

  1. Left stuck with house bought at the peak.
  2. Highest interest rate since 2000
  3. When Fiserv let’s go, you are screwed . Jobs in NJ or Lincoln (college town)?

No thank you , not certainly for Frank.

My recommendation is to decline the offer. It is a no brainer, start looking for a job and continue to draw a paycheck at Fiserv.

More people need to post this type of info. I've posted a couple of times with 10-point overviews of all of these risks and likely outcomes. People have worked here for a long time, and they see their stability disappearing so they're not looking at these "offers" through clear and unbiased eyes.

100% agree.

The only justification for someone who could make the move is a person with no spouse/kids/family in their current area. I sure wouldn't do it even then, but at least the risk only falls on you.

If you do decide to be foolish and uproot, please please please do yourself a favor and just rent a place. That way you aren't holding such a full bag of sh!t when Fiserv decides they need to RIF you or close the location you moved to be a part of.
