Sherry has been on a fast track since 2018. From nothing at STI to CMO in 5 years. Interesting 🤔
Flying under the radar is we swapped chairs on the CTO role again.
go to your browser setting and turn off java script and you can by pass pay walls on alot of sites.
I encourage all TRUIST employees to look at Sherry public resume on LinkdIN and make their own judgements on this promotion…
They don’t want to spend money marketing, Donta insists the branches are the best form of marketing. Vinoo was wasting money from that perspective
Charlotte-based Truist Financial Corp. is following through with its plans for significant job cuts and leadership consolidation as some executives depart and others gain new roles.
The bank's chief marketing officer, Vinoo Vijay, will depart from Truist (NYSE: TFC) next week, according to a LinkedIn post he made yesterday. He was named as Truist's CMO in 2020.
"I will be formally departing Truist next week," Vijay said in the post. "Terribly bittersweet. Over the last three years we've built up a truly special marketing team, and I will miss them. But I'm also excited about engaging in the new paths ahead. And oddly, the little bit of uncertainty around what exactly I'll do next feels quite freeing. Here's to just being."
The news was first reported by Business North Carolina on Oct. 5. Truist promoted Sherry Graziano to head of digital, client experience and marketing, according to an Oct. 3 memo from Dontá Wilson, chief retail and small business banking officer, Business North Carolina reported. Vijay reported to Wilson while working in his CMO role.
Another C-level executive has also announced his departure. Ken Meyer, Truist's chief information and experience officer of enterprise technology delivery, is leaving the bank to work at Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC), according to a LinkedIn post he wrote this week. Meyer said he will join the San Francisco-based bank as CIO of enterprise functions technology on Oct. 23.
"It’s been an emotional week as I made the decision last Monday to move on from Truist after almost 10 years," he said in the post. "I have always believed that you pick your employer because of the opportunity they present for you and your family. However, you stay at the employer because of the people that you work with. I have worked with some incredibly talented teammates."
Truist declined to comment on their departures. A spokesperson emphasized the bank is focused on its efficiency plan. "As we recently shared at the Barclay’s investor conference, we continue to transform Truist to focus on our strengths to drive long-term growth and profitability," the spokesperson said in an emailed statement to CBJ. "We’re hiring in some areas and rightsizing in others through natural attrition and planned staffing reductions. We’re committed to supporting affected teammates as they seek to find employment opportunities – with Truist or elsewhere."
Several other leadership changes were made at Truist, including naming David Smith as head of consumer lending, according to the Business North Carolina report. That resulted in the bank combining its direct-to-consumer, mortgage lending and other divisions. In June, Smith was tapped to lead Truist Mortgage.
The changes come after Truist made the announcement last month to reel in expenses. It plans to shed about $750 million in costs over the next few quarters by trimming $300 million in costs through job cuts, saving $200 million by rationalizing its technology spend, as well as save $250 million through consolidating its leadership.
Truist announced on Sept. 15 that its Triad region will be part of the newly formed North Carolina West region encompassing greater Charlotte, Asheville and foothills. It is led by Heath Campbell, regional president of the greater Charlotte area.
Truist also said earlier this week that it's trimming its board of directors from 21 to 13 members, which includes the departure of former CEO Kelly King.
Truist has some of the worst marketing around, no big loss.
I am very sad to see Vinoo leave
