Was told I could not leave early to see dad who was admitted to the hospital this morning. HR partner was of no help either. Fiserv does NOT value work/life balance nor family. Doesn't help we're running on a skeleton crew.

This is a case of an ineffective manager who is not thinking about the welfare of her team. Leave that team. I would have left myself and encourage others to do the same. An email or text indicating as much is usually all you need.
I left early one day. And never came back. Best decision I ever made.

If you have wellness hours. Leave they cannot do anything about it.

Was there a patient on the table? Just leave.
Why not use vacation?... exactly what it is for. It's unlimited for many, if not you have burnt thru your vacation already? This doesn't pass the smell test.
