I’ve met him a few times. A very unimpressive guy. Talks like a special ed kid in second grade. Can’t think strategically. Thinks he’s impressing you but with each word out of his mouth you’re more embarrassed to be near him. This guy is a loser. And a liar.
The senile grifter who brought in the inept token Barri Rafferty. These overpaid losers all need to go.
Good riddance to the poster boy of white privilege, incompetence, lack of intelligence and ethics, who got rich off his corrupt family name. I hope he gets stomach cancer.
Was he of the Chicago Daley's......mob?
Oh and liberal co---e too.
Yes
This is a sign that Charlie's exodus has been moved up a notch or two. BD was one of only 2 or maybe 3 who would be suited to take over for Charlie in a splash if it were needed. Wells needs a new leadership team.
My small input.... I worked in the Chicago office, did not work with him, just helped him a times and he was extremely nice to me. That's all I got.
my guess is that the board is planning succession and eliminating anyone that's not on board with the new chosen one. Getting rid of people like MM now paves the way for the transition in exec leadership. Charlie is on his way out and hopefully SP is headed out with him. The worst possible result would be SP becoming CEO. I'd rather work for Satan himself.
wow so he was paid vasts sums of money and didn't finish the job..
I don't read too much into this. There is no need to ponder on why someone is giving up the daily routine at the age of 75. It is also hard to tell how well he did. Daley was a political hire, period. Hard to prove a negative (what he was able to allow WF to avoid in terms of regulatory penalties and restrictions). What I find a bit funny is when you're in trouble, call on someone from Chicago, where they tend to be cess-pooled experienced at birth. But no slam on today's young caliber emanating from the windy city.
Well, that should free up several million dollars. What did he do anyway? Gaslight us about saving the environment?
So two-step Daley is out, ha? No more dancing with the Lizard. Gee, as I was passing through the subway station this morning, I saw a homeless old lady who was unkempt and carrying raggedy bags. I sensed a faint odor of something you wouldn't quite smell at some local chic boutique. She was also chattering her teeth, or whatever was left of them, while we're in 83 degrees weather. After reading this article on the brightest one from the Daley family (not saying much) I am now thinking she would be a perfect fit for his replacement. CS needs to call her a cab and interview her as her skills of doing absolutely nothing will be sorely needed immediately. Something tells me she hasn't strayed too far and just might be available.
If i had millions in the bank to retire comfortably in my mid-50’s i’d do it in a heartbeat. Then you can just spend time when you want to do a consulting gig ir board member to have some extra scratch or keep the mind active.
He's not the only executive who writes emails like a 1st grader. What is it with these buffoons? The higher you get the worse the grammar/punctuation gets in an environment where written word is king. Just blows my mind.
not exclusive, news everywhere
CS definitely didn’t write that.
At least he’s in his seventies. Mary Mack and others “retiring” in their early to mid fifties is more concerning. What’s really going on here?
I think he was brought on board to manage the relationship with regulators and get the asset cap lifted. He was not successful at either and was offered an opportunity to resign.
Or could this be seen as a good thing? Maybe his job was fulfilled? By that I mean chatting it up with the Fed and Senate on the asset cap. Maybe it'll be removed this year? Word is that it'll be removed before the election.
He's done feeding on WF carcass. Like a vulture, extracted as much $$$ as he could. More Scharf cronies to follow.
This is an unsettling sign re: health of the company. Something is happening and it doesn't look good.
The Old Boys Club is letting the multi-millionaire stay through the end of 2023 so he can get his 401K match. Those of us making $75K per year (average), who will be laid off by the end of the year, will certainly be gone before 12/15.
Think maybe he is going to work on Biden’s re-election campaign?
I don't know Bill, but I believe he's as bad as people say he is.
He also looks like a wax figurine.
He’s a horrible person. Abusive to colleagues. Writes emails like a first grader. Goodbye, Bill. Have the day you deserve.
Totally agree with the suspicious comment about telling his wife to not sell the stock. PR move or avoiding looking suspicious to the SEC come to mind.
Read between the lines. This is a really disturbing situation. The wheels are coming off the stagecoach
In the article he says that he told his wife not to sell the stock? How does this just randomly come up? Something really doesn’t feel right.
"We've made real progress in improving Wells Fargo's standing in the public eye [since 2019]. I see it in the data, and I hear it in the conversations I have both internally and externally…”
What data show our reputation improving? Most snippets I see show the opposite.

Yes, we'd all like to know what we got for those Daley millions.
Finally. Past time for him to hang up the roller skates. Wonder how many million he squeezed out of WF and what exactly have we gotten for his service?
Not soon enough. Closing a strange chapter in the company's history.
Bye!
I guess someone finally caught on that it was a Weekend at Bernie's situation and that fossil actually died 2 years ago.
So Charlie is alive per the story. lol
He won't be the last. Lots of changes coming soon, I'm guessing.
