Truist Bank Settles Hostile Work Environment, Firing Claims

The terms of the agreement aren’t stated in the notice of settlement filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and counsel for the parties didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

The filing comes two months after Judge Leigh Martin May greenlighted SF’s claim that the bank is vicariously liable for harassment by her supervisor that “culminated in” her discharge.

May also ruled that ...

I worked there a long time and encountered a racist manager in my last job. The IT department is at least 99% foreigners at this point who promote each other. US citizens are not being promoted and are being discriminated. Sad to see this place go down the tube.

@3tci+1orgkd5G I am sorry you worked with someone like that, I agree there are many out there, but there are good ones too. The key to all people is to stay humble, which is a difficult task for everyone. I wanted to let you know that I have worked this type of job for 20 years, I feel blessed to have it and humbled by the responsibility to my clients. I work for the client first, and then the company, I am last of all. If one works this way then you find blessings will come. Ultimately it is the Lord who we will answer too, it is good to always keep this in mind and heart too. Again I am sorry you experienced what you went through.

Micromanaged, no work life balance, berated publicly and performance reviews that focus on being blamed for department/company issues not individual performance. Expect to be disrespected and labeled as insubordinate when you refuse to take the abuse. Teammates with slight tenure that are positioned as team leads without the title, salary or actual authority fail to realize they are being used. I stayed for three years due to the pandemic and I can’t believe I allowed myself to be bullied. I have learned to appreciate the job I have now and the job prior to Truist for the professional leadership
and positive culture. Truist can market their culture, the truth is that they don’t practice what they preach, it’s just propaganda. I hope all that are laid off find a better work culture and realize the lay off was actually a blessing.

Truist was doomed as BB&T. BB&T was the worst bank I ever used (6 months). Lots of peeps in office cubicles who didn't know what they were doing. I'm not the least bit surprised.

This is why I make the Assistant Vice President comments. They are insufferable jerks, and the title goes to their heads.

One of the main issues in any wealth brokerage division is that it is overly populated by narcissist. They built their book themselves (unless a nepo-baby or taking assets when someone leaves), believe that no rule (or law) applies to them and view themselves as a mini god. Heaven help their assistant or anyone that has to work with them. I worked for one for four years only realizing what a narcissist was the last 8 months. Once I heard about it I recognized immediately that was the POS I worked for.
