Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

More Layoffs for Frederick

Heard from a reliable source that more layoffs are coming between now and Oct. for former Frederick employees who are now remote.

Charlie believes that anyone that worked here prior to him is tainted. He literally wants to get rid of every single one of us, and believes that that is the only way to move forward. To get there he's used many tactics, RTO, location strategy, tanking morale generally, DI&E, and all manner of other indignities.

He doesn't offer a displaced person a position at the (temporary) hub because he wants to get rid of them as an individual and having them move and stay in the role doesn't achieve that goal.

Pretty disrespectful if they have completely abandoned even offering the chance to relocate to a hub. I wouldn't accept, but extending the option is the decent thing to do.

I was let go due to "Job Criticality".

For those who were let go due to hub strategy, what is in your memo under the eligibility factor?

I would love this, especially if it's just before the great BCP excercise. F--k WFC. Miss seeing the FDK crowd.

A lot of good experienced and knowledgeable team members in Frederick being laidoff just because they do not have a WF chair to sit in three days a week. CS & Co. have ruined this company. Short term profits are all they care about. Eventually though, they will run out of people and buildings to cut and be stuck with a failing company. But, wait, doesn't matter because they made their millions and will be sitting on their private beach while thousands of team members and customers get the shaft. Pathetic, just pathetic. Wonder how someone who sold their soul sleeps at night.

Thanks for sharing.

Frederick, MD at one time had about 1600 employees. Now they're all remote (the building was closed down) and spread out over about 4 different states (a lot of long commuters). No idea how many actually remain.

Is the whole group getting laid off in one go, or how are they planning on breaking it down?

Do you know which specific date?

I have a hard time believing Wells still has data on who the previous Frederick employees were. Probably in a spreadsheet on one person's desk I would guess. Now they're all added in to various mailbox locations that had other employees already included.
