I see multiple comments that the lease in Hillsboro Oregon is not being renewed.
Please provide link to info, seems like people are just trolling.
Also, have folks from the Sunset location been given a move date? They have shifted the remaining folks at Barnhart and seems indeed a large group is moving in.

I know this is an old post, but is this really true? I still work at the William Barnheart Center and my supervisor told me that we just got a contract in January for two more years . I'm a single mother living paycheck to paycheck, so I'm freaking out and confused. What's the truth?
Yeah, they said the items processing team downtown was safe to, less than a year later, gone. Definitely don't buy it if you're told that. It's actually the opposite. No news is good news. If they say you're safe what they really mean is "we hope they don't quit before we wrap up this downsizing smoothly."
Agreed, you're safe until you're not safe, which could flip at any moment. I'm one of the BEC Barnhart layoffs (2/13/24). We were actively hiring for my role at my site up until the day that we were notified that we'd be laid off in February.
@1lqw+1olbm9Qe NEVER believe WF --esp if they say you're safe. that's total BS.
hold out for severance package....good luck!
from former Portland employee--told by mgr that Portland is no longer a strategic location. I was in tech.....not that I wish anything bad...but trust there is a plan in place for any remaining

To the person working remote, do you mind sharing which LOB you’re under?
WF has quite a few people wfh in the Portland metro right now that used to be at Montgomery Park. I don’t believe this, but we have been told that our LOB is safe for now and we will continue working remote over the next several years. I think they are hoping that everyone will quit but nobody is taking the bait. We’re happy to be remote, and everyone is holding out for that severance as most of us have been working 10-15 years.
I know someone who works for Washington county who is VERY reliable and I trust who told me they saw that county records show the lease for WBC was already signed by another company starting next year. Wells Fargo is out. Sorry.
Charlie is displaying classic projection. He knows that he's the most replaceable person in the entire company. He literally brings no value and hasn't earned this company a penny. Collectively we earn all the profits here. All he does is harass and fire people and sign off on a never ending string of stupid ideas.
Unfortunately, lots of rumors about the timeline. I do believe the story that WF is leaving Oregon, when everyone’s final day will be, is yet to be seen. ECMO jumped ship. Waiting on the other LOB’s to give their notice. No one knows when the lease officially expires and no one will come and tell us either. So, to all of us that are still waiting, we just have to sit and wait.
Unfortunately, every role is immediately replaceable in Charlie’s mind. He’s going scorched earth and doesn’t gaf. Be careful about being overly confident about your role in Charlie’s organization.
Sunset Park is definitely closing.
I’m not surprised Barnhart will close soon…maybe good for another year(?) as displacements will happen in waves.
Sign of the WF times…..
Sunset folks supposed to be moving in first week of Sept.
its pretty clear a lease renewal isn’t happening. Look around. Coffee and tea not being restocked. Security and cafe folks told we won’t be open past November. Appraisers walking around building and taking pics and when you ask security why people are taking pics you can see them lose their sh-t because no one is supposed to know or be told.
They started staffing up the positions in India in Q2 for escalated complaints and others.
Not all roles/departments are immediately replaceable and are still necessary. Not sure an imminent closer is possible without many more months of preparation.
If you are immediately replaceable however, I feel you have reason for concern.
Portland, Oregon is not a hub for any WF LOB and is therefore on the chopping block. This includes the surrounding metropolitan region. Corporate no longer desires a West coast presence and has already begun the act of dismantling Portland operations. The only way to save Portland in the WF footprint is to oust Charlie and his minions before WBC fully shuts its doors. But be honest with yourself and look around and realize who’s already left. Lots of “early retirements” from people in the know. I’m not trying to be cruel, but open your eyes.
We heard all OR sites (except branches) closing. That is why the remote folks were let go as well.
When you say "Hillsboro" do you mean SP or BC? Because they are both in Hillsburrito...
This is accurate. Just last week all Oregon-based folks in our department- including fully remote- were displaced and were told the Hillsboro site is closing.
