Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

It's like a never-ending cycle of reorganizations and new processes

Each one is more complex than the other and each one achieves nothing. Shouldn't management take a step back and evaluate if these changes are really helping Fiserv or if they are just turning this place more chaotic? At least that's what competent leadership would do. Which means it will never happen here.

Calling them new "processes" is being overly generous. It's more like ad hoc, figure it out as you go tasks

"In addition to reorgs it seems to be countless cases of "Set up Application A" OK now that it is running well, replace it with "Application B" for no reason."

Thank goodness after leaving I don't need to hear about that horrible software called Salt!

It really does seem like they make changes to make people feel like things are “going to get better”/“they’re apart of something big”/“good things are coming”.

It seems there are more leadership than actual workers to do the actual work

Re-orgs and new processes are upper management’s way to keep busy. They’d be sitting around twiddling their thumbs otherwise.

One of the management philosophies is to shake things up to keep people on their toes. This can be a good thing depending on the situation. Fisher seems to take this to extremes and for no real reason or benefit to the company. The other reason is to align themselves with yes men and submissives. I have seen this last one more times than I can count. Should you try to question things much or show your an independent free thinker suddenly your not getting meeting invites anymore and/or get moved to another manager or group.

The problem is there's lots of senior positions with high salarys that are currently filled by people who have nothing to do.
So by creating the latest and greatest reorg it gives the illusion of them being busy and important.

Its cover for horrible senior management. Very little confidence in upper management. They make the wrong decisons for the wrong reasons. Wish we never heard of First Data, Fiserv was better off without them and their loser FB
