I tell the offshore and H1b’s (80% are inept) how to do their job through chat, why do I need to be in the office again?
In my experience the only people who enjoy the office are the ones who have their own office, want to get out of the house and away from their wife and kids, and are baby boomers.
We complain about this RTO subject because it is a way to force attrition...PERIOD!
We complain about this RTO mandate because we were remote for a decade and productive.
As for the office, I find that nobody is really there to collaborate. The whole purpose of collaboration is defeated when people are coming in on different days and we do not have communities to be near our coworkers, and when they are in the office they are on conference call with other teams.
Amazon CEO is now doubling down on his people. For the time being it is a lost cause.
All I know is that I am not wearing a make to work!!! I am not getting a vax again ... period!

I actually saw two employees talking a minute ago. It was kind of strange. Usually everyone just has their headsets on. They were talking about the weather, so yay for productive collaboration.
