Fall Rush is a complete disaster no matter how seasoned you are. NXTTHING is a joke. They don’t interview let alone hire people who are even competent to do the job. These new hires come in completely lost and seem instantly overwhelmed when told what the job requirements are. CM outside of the store and working remote, huge mistake. CSL’s in a SM role for less pay shows no one gives a Sh!t about the employees or campus contracts. ML’s have to jump from store to store to provide support which adds at least 10-15 hours a week onto their plates. No respect or regard for students and customers… that is obvious. Everyone is burned out… and some haven’t even started Rush yet. I know of at least 6 CM3’s, 3 SM’s, 4 CSL’s and 4 ML’s who wish they could walk out. It’s not that simple, especially when you are the bread winner at home. This is all a joke and all we can do is laugh or we will all end up having strokes and/or heart attacks from the stress. . If OTC doesn’t care, why do we?

You are correct. The only way to survive is not to care... IT WILL KI-L YOU!
This is the direction Follett chose. Let the consequences fall where they may. Students will be fine. They will buy texts from other sources, or faculty will make adjustments in the syllabus. Yes, the campus will be upset, but they are already aware and watching. If you have delivered excellent service before this restructure, they will blame "Follett" not you. Although you do need make time to look for a job now. I was demoted and chose to leave. I am older (60+) so it probably took longer than most to find the right one, but I love my new job. They actually make me take a break and leave on time. I have only been there a couple of weeks, but HR came in today (unannounced) and promoted two people in my office. After HR left, I asked if they had applied for their new positions and they said no. The company just rewards hard work. There is life after Follett.
Its not so easy to find another job. But start looking now and eventually good things will come. It takes time.

I think too many of you are scared of changing jobs. I was one of the lucky demoted people. I changed jobs. I don’t like my current job, but I have no attachment to it, which is helpful. It also showed me I can, in fact, get other jobs. Even in a horrible employment area. So can you. It might not be the first one after Follett, but you’re stronger than you think. Get out. Live life, again.
