Can you lose severance if you find a new job within weeks of being laid off?

Don’t ask don’t tell . Most people are quiet quitting until someone communicates with staff. They are riding our department so hard and no one wants to be accountable for the department falling apart . I think they are riding them hoping they will quit so they can say we have eliminated jobs with attrition .

Town hall not till end of next week and it’s still tentative .

I spoke with Colleague Relations yesterday. I was told that if I get a new external job after being laid off, yes I will qualify for my severance. HOWEVER, if I get rehired by CVS then I would NOT get my severance. I didn’t get into details about how it would work if I got rehired. I hope this helps.

Don’t ask don’t tell. As long as they work through their last day, which for most is August 31. They will be eligible for continued salary until October 21 and then severance after that. It’s the equivalent of working two jobs. So yes, they can collect income from the new employer along with the monies they are getting from their severance.

Yes. The requirement to get your severance is to stay until your severance start date. (so if the "friend" is one of those who are getting regular pay until October 21, they would have to stay until then.) If one leaves before then, it is considered a "resignation" and all severance is lost.
