Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Does anybody actually believe that separating pharmacy and front store has been a success?? in 2023

It's like two divorced parents living in the same house. Two different businesses with two different priorities and a whole lot of different metrics. We share the P&L but all the way up to both of our dual presidents we are not aligned marching together anymore. Can anyone say we're doing better now than we were when we were all one team

And today they made the call. Only one president of retail stores. Michelle is moved to experience. Realignment again for 2024?

I heard they are going to combine again in the new year. Have just one store leader per store. no pharmacist license required . They can still lead over the pharmacy. DLs will have both sides of the business and operate 40-50 locations. Additional support will be provided to the DL to take on this large geography. RD population will be cut in half to save costs. Incentive structure will drastically change to reduce pay outs. If you fall below your MCP budget, they will pay you out in chicken nuggets.
No idea what I am talking about.

35 per district. Gonna need a pharmacy supervisor like role. 70 direct reports is a little large for one leader to manage

Going back to one leader in January. Districts will have 30-35 FS and RXs. Regions will have 300-350 FS and RXs. The work is being done now to establish how the geography will be cut and to determine who will stay.

I've seen that it does result in a lot of bad blood between the two teams in the store.

A few years ago I remember one of the front store employees venting a little that the DM comes in, brings pizza for all the pharmacy while the front store employees got nothing. He said that has happened a few times.

I think there is value in 2 leaders however the disconnect is RD and above. When CVS has 2 leaders before they both reported to the same RD making it feel more cohesive.
