Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Senior leadership out of touch?

Anyone else think that our senior leaders are totally out in left field when it comes to their workforce and needs if members? Watching Q3 town hall and I’m thinking what the he** are these people taking that they’re so smily and happy? It’s a sham and the company is falling apart around us. RIFs galore, benefits cut, screwing patients out of things they need, and they’re on stage acting t like humana has such a bright future. Not so people.

Happy and smiley is part of their Marxist, deep state strategy. All senior leadership are either slap happy or overly excited about nothing or both

Work your 40 hours, don’t train anyone and let middle management squirm. When they miss targets then … something will need to give. It’s a power play - healthcare executives are organized. You see the same posts on all the healthcare boards. They have a union, just not explicit. Workers need to organize too, before leverage is lost offshore or through AI.

I'm so sorry to hear more people lost their job. This is certainly not a company that provides job security. What are career agents and what areas do they support? Just wondering what else is coming behind them?

Are you all really that surprised? On 8/24/23 Humana let go of its remaining career agents. Even called those agents members and told them the agent either quit or did not renew their license. None of which is true.

But can you all really be surprised since the CEO Bruce Broussard is on the board of directors for the WEF (world economic forum) . Google it, then google Klause Schwab plan for the the WEF. Our CEO is trying to destroy us.

Our managers have no clue or don’t give a damn. They care about protecting themselves and keeping their cushy gigs. Our department is a version of he-l.

Have not heard a word in HUMS. Just waiting for flu season and they said we will have enough work. Management again says no worries.😜

I work at the Centerwell Speciality Pharmacy side. There are already hiring freezes, budget cuts, and travel freezes for management in place. As you can imagine, management is acting like everything is fine. The rumor that's circulating is CWSP is being acquired (independently). Not sure what that would mean for the CW home Health/Senior Centers? I'm curious to know on the Humana side what rumors are going on? Maybe your managers are being more transparent than at CWSP? Also to be noted, CWSP is a sh#t show and I'm surprised the higher ups haven't come in to clean up the mess. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Pay special attention to what Bruce says at the end of the Townhall. He brings up the Rewards Survey and says:

“ It’s not about cost cutting. It’s about how we can find the best benefit package that meets the needs of our diverse group of people, and do that in a way where we can maximize our dollars that Humana spends. We’re not trying to find dollars to save here, we’re trying to find ways where we can make the most of our benefits. There will be a change of benefits, but it’s because you voted.”

So… in other words, just like we all suspected, Humana will be cutting our benefits under the guise that it’s “what the employees wanted.” They will make it seem like it was our choice. He also confirmed that benefits will be changing, but he didn’t specify what those changes would be. He mentioned that we should view it as an “enhancement”, just like our insurance change to BCBS. I can guarantee you, that many people, myself included, were not and are currently not happy with the change and have had issues getting their medications, certain prescriptions are now longer covered, finding doctors that are in network has been challenging and many people had to change doctors that they have been seeing for years, some therapists don’t accept BCBS, so now many people have to pay out of pocket for therapy sessions. Getting ahold of anyone to answer questions has been impossible. It’s been a nightmare. So no, it’s certainly not an enhancement at all, and neither will the change in our benefits. It’s all so frustrating.

Do get yourself familiar with the severance policy/guideline. Being an acquired entity, you may now be subject to a "new severance policy". Many long tenure top performers went from 4+ to 2 rating overnight. Justification for termination due to performance. Embrace yourself!

Just wait till UHG started the RIFs. It has been the adopted M&A business model. It happened to CHANGE and many other acquired orgs. There is nothing strategic mind set required to be at the top. No integration no checks/balances, cut to boost up stock value. In the meantime, stuff their pockets with more options/bonuses. Run as fast as you can! Yes, market su-ks but don't wait.

Because the auto dialed will provide reliable statistics and data to be manipulated to prove the need for tyevRIF

Care management is really off the rails lately. Why force that dialer on us if we are to be laid off!! I’m just emotionally spent by this place.

That is very interesting. If that is true about the CenterWell clinics and home health, we will see different changes I guess. That will definitely change the picture for Humana. They could always sell those clinics off to another company, but the president of Humana would look like a fool. CenterWell clinics are his baby.

I heard Centerwell clinics abd home health are bleeding money and the only reason they are still afloat are the insurance plans Humana sells.

CenterWell is the area that they have said they want to focus on. Humana has said for many years they want to get out of the healthcare insurance business and we are seeing that happen. I’m sure many more RIF’s to come. I hope Triage and Support can make it to the end of the year.

I’m shamelessly brown nosing managers and acting as an agent for the managers and screwing up team members to be safe in team.
