I am hearing a lot of comments regarding the stress and work load of Store managers, leads, CM3s and MLs (which is understandable) but where are RM and GVPs? Are they helping in stores? Are they helping to putting out fires? Or are they only adding to the stress levels?
This time of year is "all hands on deck". Maybe get some VPs in the stores to help (full work days). At least answer phones and help train the new associates. That would be a huge help and free up time for store leadership to complete their tasks.
Maybe get some Ivory Tower execs to "work" in stores. Train them to be a cashier, or is that beneath them. They should take ownership of their restructure to insure its success (if that is possible). Role up their sleeves and do some actual work.

Our RM touts herself as a "high energy leader". Wrong! If and when she shows up she is in the office on her laptop or phone with her family. Hard to believe she is still around! I remember a time when if the RM or GVP walked in and it was busy, they would roll up their sleeves and help. We used to have customer centered leadership. Now we have self centered leadership! Getting out ASAP!
A lot of times RMs/GVPs "help" in the stores by sitting at their computer and sending emails about what's not done. I'd actually rather they stayed home most the time.
Regionals and GVPs aren’t going to be able to assist much. They have too many stores and logistically how much relief can they provide to each of their stores? That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t assist in stores during rush, however, realistically, this won’t solve many problems during rush…they are spread too thin to be the elixir.
Let them work. They can't be any worse than a temp.
Our RM is in stores.
Had a high positioned in a store during, had no idea how to do a text rental or run the cash register. But great at pointing what needed to be improved to ‘Follet standards’.
Couldn’t wait for them to leave, they just in the way.
RM's, GVP's, VP's, and Executive VP's never fail.
If this goes South, YOU own it!
You better get that straight in your head.
