Layoffs coming that will affect corporate on Monday

The way this was handled today was absolutely pi-s poor and though I was lucky enough to keep my job, my heart goes out to everyone who lost theirs. The members that we lost on my team were invaluable and the work that’s now thrown on our plate is going to be insane, especially with holiday coming up.
The meeting where the CTO spewed some lawyer written bullsh-t at us was thrown on our calendar one hour before it happened and then we had to sit around all day and hope our phones didn’t ring. Then a VP schedules a meeting later in the day that’s more vague bullsh-t like “hey you still have a job! We’ll talk in two days go have fun at work”
I could not be any more angry with leadership right now and trust is at an absolute low. This ruins any amount of a good reputation this place built up with me as a company I had previously wanted to work for.
Interesting...there was nothing like that included in mine. 36 yo from Ohio.
Someone should copy the table into a pastebin for all to see. Information is power.
There is an appendix table in the separation agreement that’s listed pursuant to Older Workers Benefit Protection act. And it shows the job titles and ages of people who were released and those that were kept. No PII is included.
How did someone receive a doc with ages on it? Leaked? I hope names aren’t on it. Di-ks needs sued. So disgusted.
Makes me feel better other people haven’t received their letters yet. Cruelty is the point at Di-ks Sporting Goods.
Yes want to see that document. I know someone that love's taking apart corporations in the court room. We need to sync
Link the the declaration document?
No letter here either
The ages listed in the declaration document sure paints a picture of age discrimination. In almost every job title in tech the oldest person was removed.
Still no letter at 9:26pm. HR should be fired they are the useless employees
Left the company in 2021, but sorry to hear this happened today. I still keep in touch with a lot of people who still work there. Sounds a lot like the 2017 layoff when they dismissed people throughout the day.. all you could do was sit in your cube and wait. Best of luck to all those affected. Short sited company.
I was bullied by a member of management and no one cared, supported me, or helped me. I’m sure that crazy bi--h got to keep her job. Keep the people that torture their employees and get rid of those that barely get paid a living wage. Sure, makes sense.
A lot of good, loyal workers, long tenured employees who did nothing but work hard and keep pi-s poor deprecated technology running in stores were told to f*ck off today. Here’s hoping they can’t get Endzone over the finish line and their POS systems running on windows 2008 sh-t all over holiday
Still no email either. Agree the company has gone down hill. Management is horrible. I’ve been treated bad for years and they just get away with it. Sad I wasted my time here.
I heard about 800 let go out of 2200 at the csc? Can anyone confirm?
I am a little worried that I am not worried that I was let go. Still no email with severance information. I should have been looking already I have not liked the way things wer going for several months. It's like they c9me up with all this bs ways of working and it's like they are justifying there job because you have to change constantly
“I don’t know who handled things worse, Bush on 9/11 or this terrible management team.”
Awe, c,mon! Bush is not even close. But Ed Stack is a rabid conservative so no surprises!
Any guesses on total count, if not it will probably be boasted about on tomorrow's result release. I'm glad I was let go. Have been looking elsewhere for months. Their data systems are a terrible mess of duplicated data. As a software engineer I spent more time fixing extra/missing characters on data imported from outside vendors than actually writing code. If investors knew how things ran they would dump the stock.
The most ham-handed dismissals that I have ever witnessed. The managers didn’t even look at their dismissed teammates, only looking at the floor.
Never have I seen such cowardice in implementing personnel decisions.
I have had to enforce HR decisions, before, But I have never seen it done by cretins!
Still have not gotten my email
Hope holiday is an epic disaster for them. It’s what they deserve. Middle finger to them. Utterly heartless.
I was furloughed back in 2020 and eventually in the last group of people to be brought back 3 months later. I lost all trust and faith in the management (I was in the Strategy & Analytics division) and every day at work following me being brought back su-ked so much.
To those impacted: I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. There's light at the end of the tunnel and I hope that yinz are able to get back onto your feet.
I lived through the 2020 “reorganization” I feel bad for those who lost their jobs, but I can reassure them that ultimately it will be a blessing… you will be much better off working for a company who actually appreciates your contributions and doesn’t just want a bunch of robot yes people… they were just awarded a diversity award… good for them… reality is they are not as diverse as they are WOKE… if you have a mind of your own you will be better off out of the organization.
I just received my email from HR. It has a decent amount of resources and information.
I wonder if contractors do not count towards the ratio as much because they have been in a hiring freeze except for contractors and we were told they were going to be cut first
Have not as of 6 18
I still haven’t received anything in my personal email. It’s 6:10 pm. Did everyone else by now? This place is so incompetent they can’t even lay people off correctly.
@ @2frb+1obeSoyg that does sound incredibly frustrating. Seems like there’s a disparity between orgs and teams. My EM said they don’t know of any changes but that they don’t expect a vast overhaul of our teams.
Who is the OP that knew 2 days ago...
Obviously my heart goes out to those who lost their jobs and I recognize they got much worse news than I (and others) did today. But many of us who are staying were told today that we would be moved to entirely different departments and with entirely different roles (lateral) today with no explanation as to why. Not given a choice, just told "you'll work here now". When I asked for details as to what my new job would look like, it's "TBD". So they just shuffled a bunch of us around into jobs we didn't necessarily want with no direction or guidance. Extremely frustrating day.
Still haven’t received anything in my personal email
Just updating...received my email packet @ 4:10 PM ET
The way it was handled was horrible. Ultimately it seems that no one is happy there, so it will most likely end up a good thing for many people. Hopefully those terminated will land at a good place and take all of those remaining with them. They do this every 3 years, so if you aren’t gone now you will be in the next round, especially if you’re on the “older” side.
A potential explanation for the "why" question is that these layoffs are an effort to address the concern from Wall Street that our headcount costs to sales growth ratio was not what they like to see. This has been a consistent concern from investors over the last 2 years. So by reducing headcount, they improve that ratio, which investors like.
Calls have stopped as far as I'm aware. We basically had a "congrats, you're still employed" meeting with our VP at 2:45pm.
So I don't understand what their justification for laying people off is? Why is the focus on posting new positions when they just laid off so many FTEs?
Are the calls still happening? (3:55PM ET)
Too bad the CTO did not get layed off. #liar
have not seen the email yet. they had the internal meeting already. said new positions will be posted soon.
