I have never seen such fu-kery in my lifetime. How do they expect people to work thinking they are getting laid off? If the lay me off, I’m honestly going to go all Karen on them.
As an affected person the 10/21 is for last week. 12/30 would encompass additional rounds of layoffs. They are not done people. Quit giving false hope.
One problem I see with that list of affected positions. I don't see Karen, Prem, Michelle, or Laurie's positions in it. There the ones that need to be let go.
This notification is dated 08/18 with termination dates between 10/21 and 12/30. Looks like these are for layoffs for last week.
I found the FAQ info about WARN here:
https://webapps.dol.gov/elaws/eta/warn/faqs.asp#:~:text=The%20law%20makes%20no%20provision,notice%20is%20a%20possible%20option.
@1gri+1oaxaC3L — what is the source of your info? Seems like a helpful article.
“The ones that were let go and their last day was Tuesday…it’s paid leave?? Why would they do that?!”
To fulfill the legal requirement of 60 day notice and keep them in role for the shortest amount of time possible for knowledge transfer. The longer someone impacted is onboard, the larger the risk is that they attempt sabotage. The logic is to keep them onboard for the least amount of time to ensure continuity of business.
I just researched. Looks like CVS opted to pay employees 60 days instead of sending a WARN notice 60 days ago. Guess rich people and giant corporations don’t have to play by the rules.

What if my employer pays me for the 60 days instead of sending me a WARN notice?
WARN requires 60 calendar days' written notice. The law makes no provision for any alternative such as pay in place of a notice. While an employer who pays workers for 60 calendar days instead of giving them proper notice technically has violated WARN, the provision of pay and benefits in place of a notice is a possible option. Because WARN provides for back pay and benefits for the period of the violation, up to 60 days, generally this approach by an employer—pay in place of notice—means that the employer has already met the penalty specified in the Act, if the payment is not required to be made.
This person is right- someone I know who was laid off is being paid a regular paycheck through 10/21, but it is clearly an expense they’re willing to pay to fulfill WARN act notification reporting requirements.
Is it so they didn’t have to make roles affected public until just now? I don’t fully understand the why, but the timing tracks with the 60 day WARN notice regulations.
CORRECT
All of the 5k have been notified. Technically nobody has been laid off yet (including those who last working day was Monday) in the sense that everyone impacted will be on paid leave until at least 10/21, at which point they will then be terminated and severance will begin. WARN requires 60 day notice, hence the roughly two months of paid leave before termination occurs.

I am confused by this article and post. These are the layoffs that already happened and Oct 21st is the end date of pay for these people, as opposed to another round we can expect right? My Digital position is listed on there 4 different ways. Man this stinks.
I do think there will be more rounds regardless.
CT positions also posted on the Warn notice CVS filed with CT.
AZ news indicates 100 positions to be impacted by layoffs in Scottsdale
Came here to say what @1ppn+1oaxaC3L did. Looks like that is part of the 5,000. People have already been told.
It says:
“All employees who will be terminated as a result of this action have been notified of their specific termination date and that their termination from employment will be permanent.”
Here, not the OP -- the pdf is linked at the end of the article:

P.S. And to the severed employee that is now self-reportedly hired at Amazon, we (the mouse in my pocket) wish you grace and the best of luck. Having experienced involuntary separation from a previous employer, I can empathize with the myriad of emotions you're experiencing. To be jaded is drinking the poison and looking for others to get sick (Buddha). Find solace in your new opportunity.

Technically they are laid off, but separation is October for most. I don't know of anyone actually coming in after the this week; they were basically told to leave and sit home.
This email and pdf is dated 8/18
Ever heard of linking an article? Man people who work for CVS are dense. Glad I have an offer from Amazon. 50% pay raise + severance. Peace.
