Amazon got into healthcare a few years ago and it didn’t work.
Chalk up another failure in health care for Amazon, one of the ultimate market disruptors.
First, its much-hyped effort with JPMorgan and Berkshire Hathaway to reform health care, Haven, ended its short life.
Now, Amazon Care, its effort to tackle telemedicine and primary care for the employer market on a national basis – which Amazon itself trumpeted as gaining more and more clients – is being shut down.
Is that all the proof we needed of what many people have said over the years: health care is just harder to disrupt than most industries
You're all MUSHROOMs toast the entire Healthcare, Pharmacy, Hospitals Everything is gonna be Amazon. Buy everything from them.
Anyone who knows is probably not going to post here.
That said, none of us "commoners" know. We have no idea if they've done the whole 5,000, half of it, or only a small portion. We don't know if next week or next month they are going to do another round.
Many of us have heard that our department should be safe, or that our department wasn't effected, or it's already done, etc. And it may very well be. Or it might not. Most managers probably know little more than the rest of us, if they know anything at all.
And at this point, with the way it seems the company is being run, I don't even know if the executive suite even knows what's going on.
Exactly. I would say the entire company is on notice at this point. Even Miss Karen herself.
Middle class will be toast soon. Keep educating yourself and vote.
There will be more layoffs rest of year. Have you seen the stock price? Taken heed of the lost accounts because the clueless leadership team has no idea what they’re doing?
Oh yeah, btw Amazon is getting into health care. CVS in BIG trouble.
Yes
