Just heard from the union they were advised there were 7 known cases of Covid in the Atlanta, GA Midtown office. Keep in mind the company doesn’t have to let us know there is a Covid health threat in the office. I wear my mask , but noticed more people are wearing their masks. The union said everyone should try to be safe and wear your masks. Of course you will always have those who don’t wear them. That’s their prerogative. I’m not surprised by the surge in cases, because of the mass increase of employees coming into the office. Take care everyone!

“Mask don’t work for Covid but it has a nice placebo effect,”. COVID is respiratory just like the cold or flu so masks do help to reduce spread. The Asians figured this out, why do science denying right wing ‘Mericans fight this? I don’t wear a mask currently, but there is no denying it helps.
Of note--Atlanta area schools started back in session and are in their third week of school now. I wouldn't be surprised if this 'surge' has more to do with that than coming into the office to work. Didn't many in ATL have to be back 7/6? Start of school will always bring more 'sick" into schools and offices and by virtue back out to people's houses based on recent vacations to other areas and just kids being germy. Anybody who's ever had kids or known a teacher can tell you that. We've already had cases for Flu A & B in our area.

Mask don’t work for Covid but it has a nice placebo effect, Covid is going to be around forever just like the flu. Nearly everyone has been exposed (crowd immunity) so now its effects are minimal compared to when it initially was released upon the world. Most people don’t get spun up about it anymore, unless they have existing health issues.
Take precautions just like any other virus or cold in the office, hopefully those who become ill will stay home the recommended 5 days and use their sick time.
