There’s absolutely no way that the recent 5 star reviews aren’t planted by the company to give the appearance that the culture isn’t the most toxic, bullying, harassing environment ever. How can you say “no cons I can think of” without being planted. There’s no fu----g way otherwise

That no good fake crying red headed CEO needs to fired by the board. Nasty piece of s*.
Their antiquated and intentionally brutal performance management process is the brainchild of their founder/CEO. It won’t change unless/until he retires. Don’t miss it!
OMG, OP! You hit the head on the nail. I worked there, and it was the worst toxic, bullying place. Truthfully though, I had read a review that said exactly this. I had to find out for myself. I lasted ten months, too long.
All of those who says it's a great place to work are not telling the truth. I reviewed it negativity on glassdoor and indeed.
It's a bully show for sure with unprofessional management who do not know how to speak to you in a professional manner.
There are a handful of Capital One “cheerleaders,” primarily those with law degrees who VP+. I think for the most part, they are left alone (perhaps even exempt from the performance management system) and make a ton of money.
The positive reviews are either fake or written by those who are really naive or who benefits from favoritism, such as those massaging their managers feet or somethin' nasty like that.
Who ever the original poster of this message was you were reading my mind. I was just going to post a message like this.
Truthful glassdoor reviews would hurt the company stock and drive down applicants, validating the failure of the calibration process (forced distribution/stacked ranking).
There hasn't been a single calibration session I have attended where someone was glad to have participated, yet people leaders are forced to proclaim the value of this 'difficult' process to our direct reports.
You have to bury or ki-l a little piece of yourself every cycle in order to drop someone in a below strong/inconsistent bucket. Those Capital One leaders who have been there 5+ years are completely dead inside. Even the language used to deliver PIPs and Coaching Plans are 'rinse and repeat'. The leaders have you write and say (chant) this enough to where you become brainwashed.
The double digit bonuses Manager+ receive make it more difficult for leaders to find their soul and leave/do the right thing on their employee's behalf.
Welcome to the real Cult-ipal One!
Glassdoor is a joke.
I agree. Companies ask their employees usually HR to create fake accounts using different email addresses and a VPN to hide their IP addresses to post fake reviews. Glassdoor says they don't take money from employers for reviews but employers pay Glassdoor to maintain their listing. So it's not fully transparent.
This company taught me that Glassdoor reviews are fake and gamified. There is no way that this company should have had anywhere near the rating my last company had. To see that it has a higher rating is proof for me that they plant fake reviews, delete negative reviews, and perform some kind of other trickery. It's kind of how I learned the Oscars are just for marketing.
