Yeah 31 years experience means nothing I’m fired

Yeah, I think that I had almost 32 years experience when I took the retirement package. I saw that upper management was not communicating with the US employees so I knew a layoff and salary cut were coming. The funny thing is that HPE recruiters have contacted me several times about open positions but I’m making a lot more money now and I’m not interested in sailing on a sinking ship.
NOT YOU !!!!!!!
Just think you had them fooled for 31 years. They finally caught on. Congrats
Hey at least you got 31 years! You should be retired.
It's only a question of time until it transforms into an Indian or Bulgarian company, or at the very least, predominantly staffed by individuals from those countries. I experienced a workforce reduction three years ago from the Alpharetta facility, and the manager, who was of Indian descent, appeared genuinely enthusiastic when he called to inform me of my workforce reduction.
“I make almost double what I did at HPE and work in Solar industry with more job security and benefits.”
Just be aware that the solar industry is only secure as long as the government is there to subsidize it. It’s a proven fact that the solar and wind industry cannot support itself without massive inflows of cash from the taxpayers.
Yeah, I left HPE after I passed 50 years of age and became a target. Luckily, there are employers who still value my skills which have increased geometrically since leaving HPE. That also included a nice bump in salary. For those that still remain on the rudderless ship, you should start formulating an exit plan because upper management doesn’t have a clue.
HP abandoned the HP Way in 1999. Carly ki-led the company in 2001 with the Compaq merger. Nothing against Compaq, but that’s when the company (and the rest of the industry) abandoned higher margin big iron unix systems for low margin x86 systems. Carly doesn’t know sh-t about technology. All she ever saw was a PC.
RIP HPE. Ki-led by DEI in 1999.
Wow! I took a package in 2018 because I was sick of yearly layoffs. I visit this site every October to see if anything changed. From what I see it appears it's only gotten worse and HPE is where despair comes to die.
OP, maybe they would not fire you if you at least knew how to use punctuations in a sentence. Literacy is important in the tech world.
Yea I know the feeling. I was let go in 2017 after 32 years. I went back to school for factory automation and robotics. I make almost double what I did at HPE and work in Solar industry with more job security and benefits.
It’s been a year since HPE gunned me down. I read these posts and I see nothing has changed. It’s that magical time of year.
Must be 31 years of, "We get to design and fabricate our system from scratch." to "We'll define the product using big words and we'll let China do the rest."
After reading all these posts I know longer feel guilty about all the customer lunches I had over 30 years with out the customers. 😀
You stayed 21 years to long.
It will be hard for you to find another job. HPE is a handicap on your resume. It has not been a respected company in years. I hope you can retire and get Social Security. Be sure to liberate your 401k from the death sprial that is HPE.
If you were there for 31 years management hated you and wanted to move your job
CR or India for 18 - 23k a year. You were getting fat off of your first world salary and it
sickens the Ceo and people on the board of directors.
This is a blessing. You're probably going to get about 35-45% pay increase when you find your next gig. Congrats!

Why you get fired brah? Not 'serving' your master? To high on the food chain?
Serve you right
