I remember hearing about it when it happened; not from leadership, of course, although they would like you to believe they communicated...but through the rumor mill. I believe the obituary did not mention that he worked for WF and at the time I thought that was a way for the family to say "it was not a big enough part of his life to even mention".
As for being an executive, we know that this bank has handed out officer titles like candy so the news people think everyone with an AVP title is an executive.

According to the media, an employee at a bank is an executive when it comes to a news article. Prayers to the family.

I know I posted about this when it happened. They closed the concord pike site for a day and it was back to business. And I think he did leave some final words prior to his death.

And the reason I remembered it is because the guy was a Philadelphia eagles fan and the eagles were going to play in the Super Bowl the next week. His obituary claimed he was big eagle fan. My teammate, sorry Charlie, did a lot of work in that building. And another set that building up years ago.

Yes! EVERY Town Hall and C-suite AMA question should be about this. We need to be as relentless w/them as they were w/him and are w/many of us.

Every Isngle question.

e.g.,

  • Where were you when you found out? What was your initial thought? secondary thought?
  • How do you think his family feels about WF's response? What would you have said to his brother that night in the parking lot as his beloved brother was lying dead on WF grounds?
  • How do you think employees feel about lack of company acknowledgment of this tragedy? Including those who passed by boarded up 14th floor window.
  • What are YOU personally doing to help prevent it? Besides training or mental health resources.
  • What was the first comment you made to fellow C-suite members? What was your immediate discussion besides trying to keep staff from finding out and discussing it?

At Wells Fargo, things like working hard for long hours, going above and beyond, or successfully completing projects, etc. don't mean anything! All that matters is a successful brown-nosing to your managers and executives.

Wasn't an executive, but was on a team where they worked us to death. Constant evenings and weekends... too many 16+ hour days to count. WF doesn't care one tiny little bit about the wellbeing of any employee outside of Hudson Yard, no matter how many wellness committees or fluff statements they make.
If you allow them to treat you like chattel, they will take everything you will give.
My lesson learned - only give what you are willing to. Going above and beyond here doesn't make any difference. If you want to move ahead, you have to brown nose the managers and talk the latest key word nonsense.
I'm honestly surprised there aren't more un-alives happening here. There was one a few years back in the West Des Moines office.

Did he jump to his death? Or did the bank just level up on the depths they'll go to hide the discrepancies?

Notice that WF’s first statement is an attempt to deflect responsibility—“As we all know, it's virtually impossible to identify a reason when a tragedy like this occurs.”

Wrong again, Wells Fargo. We all know the reason for this tragedy.
