Do Not Call Violations? & SC WARN Notice

Branch Banking: Does anyone have some insight on why Wells Fargo is so insistent that our many ‘outreach calls’ are just ‘service calls’. I have pointed this out to upper management and the only addressing is that if someone’s profile list them on the Do Not Call list that “outreach call lists have been scrubbed and these calls are allowed to be made”. I’ve also been gaslit and told that even some that are offering a direct service (such as OLB services), goals of providing info about current savings offers….and now the kicker, outreach calls SPECIFICALLY labeled as “SOLICITATION CALL” are actually just ‘service calls’. Toggle back to the customers profile and it says “Do not call for solicitation….”. If they are ok to call, that’s great, that’s fine. But I would like as reason as to why they are ok to call and that this in compliance. Maybe it’s me, I don’t fully understand?

Other than that 500+ SC layoffs in 2024 per September 28th WARN notice.

They 100% have not renewed grey stone lease and they will lay off any left over staff. The staff there have known this for almost a year.

I can’t really explain but it has to do with a legal reason. Let’s hypothetically say we made commitments to a gov agency and we need to be compliant with do not call list, e.g., cann spam stuff. Sounds like we would NOT be calling to your point. However, let’s also say some legal assessments were made and contractually we are able to make calls to explain updated systems/services to customers that signed agreements to receive said info.

@tkr+1oR5KG2k NO, warn does not mean they will close down a site but instead it means by law if 100 plus people are going to be fired then the company must report it. In this case it is around 525 people in total will loose there jobs real soon so therefore Wells must report it.

Yes, they file a WARN notice with the state when they are closing a site. Best wishes to the SC employees.

Call center in Columbia, SC will likely be shut down. Lease non renewal and employees there already are leaving.
