Could anyone please provide any insight on the criteria that will be considered when making decisions regarding employee layoffs? Are factors such as salary, years of service, mid/end year reviews, RTO stats, or manager input being discussed? Any insights or guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, "I was on the phone with Charles" mo--n. Your mother's calling you to do your chores. Get home.
The former President and current President are close to 80 years old. Being around 60 years old is like being a kid in this day and age work force.
Fear not older employees, WF doesn't want young workers either (in the US anyway). They'll get rid of us too. Just a matter of time.
I worked at wf for 11 years, turned 60 and they axed me. This was age discrimination all the way as I worked with another person and we both did the same job in the same building. He was 15 years younger than I, and I out-worked him two-fold. He was a great person but worked the system like no other. I was not let go because my manager picked me, I was let go because of the crazy algorithm they use which I was told is done by a third-party company so to save WF's butt in case of back-lash. Ernst and Young years ago let go of a ton of people, and they too used a third party to come up with the list, making sure more older people were let go than young. WF when they can you attaches a spreadsheet of all the people in your field that were also let go, showing all the different ages of people that were canned. But its heavily swayed toward older people. Now, severance is great, still on it getting two pay checks now. Took me 2 months to find another job making more money and a frickn great atmosphere. So WF can su-k eggs, but also, thank you and bye bye.
I've just got laid off from WF recently and I am 62. I don't have enough money for my retirement, so I need to find a new job. Are you guys telling me that those who are over 60 cannot get employed anymore?
Hub strategy is the quick and easy way to lay off lots of employees. If you aren’t in a hub, you are going to be displaced.
It’s is a fact that if you are over 60 with more than 25 years of service, your days are numbered literally. I was laid off at 61 and had 28 years in.
If you don’t cash app me $600 you will be let go asap
- Are you a domestic employee that isn't an executive?
If so, you'll be layed off. It's the only criteria that matters to Hudson Yards.
I think it matters not to Wells. Whether you are a minority, veteran, older, etc it will trickle every which way.
If your job title undergoes any changes prior to the overhaul scheduled for March of 2024, you can bid farewell.
In COO, if you try to do the right thing, the managers will get rid of you because it does not fit their agenda.
In CCAR it's if the manager doesn't like you.
I think it’s more LOS than age.
@jtm I meet 3 out of 4 of these criteria but I'm still here. Here's to hoping that the saga ends on Tuesday.
It's true. HR gave me the age group statistics for those who got laid off in my area. Most of them were over 60, including myself. I thought age discrimination was illegal, WF reminded us in the Develop You training. They are a bunch of liars.
I was the only one who got let go on the team. I know one thing, I was the oldest one on the team and all others were way younger than me.
If you are over 60 with 25 plus years of service you are gone. Not in a hub? Working remote? You are gone
OP: It could be so many things….no manager really knows since they just do what they’re told….sometimes they do know in advance…mine said they had known for a couple of weeks.
I don’t feel guilty that I quietly quit in 2020. win win!
Charles confirmed to me today he hired a bunch of tech support hackers from India to trace the ips that post on this site then pair them with the ip that your laptop connects to when you work from home before the vpn. Then they will be converted to FTE and directly take your job for a fraction of the salary. You will be getting an email next month about this unless you anonymously complement his perfect silver hair here.
heads they win, tails you lose.
I was on a call with Charles this afternoon today and he said he is going to lay off everyone that ever posted on this website this year on 10/3.
Come on guys. This is funny sh-t 😂. More than the normal tech is affected 😂
For chainsaw. If you’re breathing and receiving a pay check!
I think it varies. When I was let go in 2021, I was the only team member in my location and the only one on the team let go. Dozens more on other teams in my location were also let go that same day. My manager did not know ahead of time that I was being displaced, but I heard that other managers in my location had been tipped off.
And he said everyone that downvoted my post won’t get severance
Direct manager has no say - they are likely being canned too
Most unliked by manager
Do you have a coin? Now flip it

Fully remote.
Perhaps age? Years of service (amount of severance required)? Gender? Race? Work location? Hub or in office but not in a hub? Line of business not generating revenue?
Who knows? It’s a mystery!
