I think we are already there. They are in the process of closing Hillsboro, Oregon. It’s just a question of which site is next and how soon…

Can confirm CIB manager as well. No time tracking just swipes, assuming you don't work at the same location of someone that cares how long you are there. I always stick around for an hour or 2, but no more, and no issues yet.

Once RTO has convinced all the people to quit that it can, the execs will stop caring about it to an extent. Then we'll transition into another phase of the downsizing, where we are displaced 'because we have to close/sell your building'. Going to that building was never really required in order to work, as RTO isn't a functional requirement, but you'll be given no option to return to WFH or relocate to a "hub". That fact alone will prove that it's all excuses and not legitimate justification for a layoff. Already people are being layed off because they aren't in an approved hub, but they also aren't allowed the option of moving to an approved hub. That tells you everything you need to know about the situation.

@1aam+1oQl0HlA and @1bgl+1oQl0HlA you both are absolutely 100% on everything you said.

I've been in WF tech for over 25 years. It used to be such a great place to work, it really was a great job for the first 10-15. Lots of quality training, perks to us - Christmas parties, yearly team building events, swag given to us, and perhaps the most important thing; respect. There is ZERO morale on the teams I work with besides the overachievers with no life outside of work who are blind to the fact they are just as vulnerable as the rest of us "meets" folks.

In the grand scheme, I still consider myself blessed to have the life I have but WFB has turned into a satanic machine that treats their employees like dirt. No one should be sick every day waiting for the one-on-one meeting invite for the top of the hour with your boss or bosses boss showing you the door. As many of you, I'll play their game until I get the severance package, I'm too close to the end to walk away now.

Agree completely. With each passing day RTO gets more intolerable, not less. It's asinine on it's face and every one of the alleged benefits are a pack of lies. Near-zero collaboration going on. Honestly, I've seen much more people talking about unions, their fear of layoffs, and their disgust at the stupid decisions coming from the execs then I've heard work related problem solving type discussions. The latter never really happens as far as I can tell.

Of course the truth of the matter is that the execs know all this. They aren't THAT stupid. They know it's not working on any kind of functional level. But they also know that heaping indignities upon the plebes is the best way to get them to voluntarily resign, and THAT is the objective of RTO. That's the whole plan. Torment people to avoid paying severance. It's a despicable approach and completely unsustainable, but they simply don't care at the top.

"Spirit of RTO." That's rich. I wonder how soon it will be before leadership mandates that we stand in the break room by the water cooler for 15 minutes each day and stare at random people we don't know.

Probably 90% of the people at my location don't know one another and don't speak to one another. It's badge in, set up, work, pack up, go home. During that time I might say hello to someone I'm passing by. Most people look down and don't speak. No one wants to be there and the goal of most people is to do the time and get the heck out. Each day, I sit in a random cube (affectionately known to me as my prison cell for the day) and count down the hours until my mandated time is up and I can get the heck out of there.

I know that's dramatic. But honestly with all the d-mb rules/mandates, that's what it feels like. As time goes on, I loathe every day in the office even more. (Too close to retirement to bounce or I would.)

I’m a manager in CIB. Managers have access to a report which only shows days in the office based on badge swipes. No count of hours, how you are connecting or details of swipes. The topic has not been a significant point of discussion in our group for months. Managers are expected to monitor for compliance and deal with non-compliance with employees. It’s part of being a manager.

Badge, log in. By the time you locate an empty unassigned space and find all of the wires tucked all over the place to create a functional computer…you likely have met the requirement. Add hardware tech to your upskilling. WINNING!

It’s inconsistent at best. I have a micromanager. For Rachael it’s 8 hours 3 days a week (I’m sure she wants more. She’s a sadists). Those of you you have management that lets you get away with 4 to 6 hours are blessed. It could be worse. You could have Rachael breathing down your neck.🤦🏻‍♂️

If you do what the company has mandated and is paying you to do, you would have no questions. If you don’t want to do it, you have options.

As someone who hears directly from corporate properties; yes they track your badge in and badge out. You are supposed to be in office 6 hours min. and manager get reports when there is non compliance with these standards.

On the reporting dashboard where managers can see your badge swipes, it also mentions network traffic. So if you swipe and ditch, they could track it.

RTO is easy. I drive to work, enjoying my hot coffee. But the coffee always gets things gurgling so I hurry and swipe my badge, run to the restroom and bust a grumpy. Then I simply badge out and go back home. Repeat 2 more days and all done. Easy. And save mega $$$ on TP in the process. Trust me, I use a lot of it.

If you are exempt ( salaried) mgmt can’t tell you how many hour per day that you need to be in the office. Hourly employees can be mandated to put in a certain number of hours each day x 3 days a week.

I heard it was 3 times a week, 4 hours because you have to take PTO in 4 hour increments. Make sense? Not really. Oh well.

I work from home 5 days a week. For 3 days I only start at home and put in about 2 hours. I then go in before noon and stay for 4-6 hours. No one has said anything about it.

Tech was told a minimum of 6 hours in a Town Hall. It was hedged with it not being tracked at this time, but that anything less goes against the spirit of RTO and could become an issue for those who leave early in the future.

they can talk about guidelines all they want but without a way to accurately track it then unless you are in the same location as your manager these guidelines aren't anything more than toilet paper

It likely varies by LOB. My manager has not seen a report yet, so she isn’t worried about it. I have not seen any guidance on hours… just 3 days a week in tech.
