Moved to a new team and then displaced

Anyone get moved to a new team due to manager being displaced only to then themselves be displaced within a few weeks or the next 2-3 months?

I was hoping for displacement but would have expected it to come at the same time as manager was displaced. You know, give us all the axe at once but that didn't happen.

I think this has happened more often than not. They will identify a team they want to displace and will move them to a different "temporary" manager and then eventually let the folks go.

Sorry to hear OP. I would gladly take a package if offered... My manager knows that anyone being displaced means someone getting hired in India and their head count going down. The US vs. India split in tech is currently 60/40. India is going to win.

That's exactly what happened to me.

Worked in Tempe (mortgage) and was with my team for 4+ years. Transferred virtually to majority of my team in DSM and Minneapolis. Let go within 4 months.

I had no relationship with manager or my team established with the move. Nothing I could do - I got the phone call and was gone.

Happening all over the place, especially if you are remote and have a remote exception. They are actively trying to manage out remote people.
