It's the information age. Almost all office buildings are irrelevant. Some just aren't aware of it yet. Good news is, all the office space you'd ever want will be on sale for pennies on the dollar shortly.
Not sure how 550 S Trying is irrelevant. Also, it overlooks the Panthers' stadium which will give it a lot of looks for advertising.
I shudder when I see red and yellow (such tacky colors together) or a WF sign of any kind. Like the McD’s of banks - cheap and bad for you
The signs are fine, but a) stop wasting money on irrelevant buildings and b) don't lie about the intended purpose of making any change.
A sign on a WF building is certainly going to make getting laid off more enjoyable.
Do any of you realize how many top of the building signs we have? This is just a drop in the bucket. Name a large city and we have a building sign.
Yes because the first thing a tourist wants to do in a new city is go to a Wells Fargo branch or atm. It’s the necessary reality check for me babe.
This company constantly lies about things big and small. This signage has nothing to do with the "employee experience". It may be advertising directed at non-employees, but that's it. New Yorkers don't stare up at buildings as the walk around, that's what tourists do. Same thing with people that work in this building. Maybe on your first day you look up, after that you ignore it. So, how many hundreds of thousands are we going to drop on something that will be roundly ignored?

Its the new East Coast Headquarters, makes total sense to put a sign on it.
A costly sign is not going to enhance employee experience. How utterly tone deaf they are.
I have a feeling, and I could be wrong, so please correct me if I am… but, only the vaccinated pleb are planning to come into the office after the shift to remote in the rest of the working world takes place. They will scream for boosters along the way and beg for electric vehicles and beyond meat.
The bank told WCNC Charlotte the proposed signage and enhanced lighting are part of a commitment to improve the employee experience and the link with the community.
WCNC Charlotte reviewed rezoning documents filed by Wells Fargo with the city of Charlotte.
Wells Fargo confirmed to WCNC Charlotte on Wednesday it is seeking to add signage to the top of its office at 550 South Tryon Street. A spokesperson for the company said the signage is part of a nearly $500 million commitment to enhance employee's experiences while working at the building
The proposed signage would involve two signs with a maximum sign area of 3,760 square feet, one on each side of the tower. The signs would specifically be set on the topmost area, along the base of what forms an incomplete, upside-down triangle.
Along with the proposed signage, Wells Fargo said it plans to upgrade the LED lighting system on the sides and top of the tower. The company says this will elevate its Wells Fargo Lights program, which sees the tower lit up in different colors for different causes, programs, and events.

OMG. What is it with all the Real Estate posturing lately that they're doing? They never wanted to put a sign on that building as it was finished during the last recession and they thought it would look bad to show they owned it. My, how times have changed.
A building they have owned for years but leased to Duke
