Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

A sense of doom

That’s how it feels here. No team collaboration. Manager is silent. Everyone siloed and struggling on their own. Really weird.

The sense of doom is real. At this point it seems scarier to be one of the ones NOT laid off in October.

The funny thing about the picture and vacation sharing is that they think this is how they relate to the working people who can't afford those trips.

Right?! Employees also have kids and dogs and beach houses or whatever. The “leaders” think they are the ones with all the money and power. Not always the case folks! Certainly they do not have all the brains or emotional intelligence — this is 100% clear.

I was going to post the exact same thing. I really hate those hypocritical talks with family picture sharing... as if they are completely apathetic to what's really going on and many hardworking employees are getting terminated.

Yes, the corrupt WF leaders make sure to torture you before they sack you. Many employees leave the company with PTSD. I think those employees should file a class action lawsuit for emotional trauma, which may be preventing them to go back to the work force.

The COO environment is extremely toxic. They continue to spew a bunch of nonsense at every meeting, and continue political backstabbing games behind the smooth talk. They pretend to be nice but they lie every day, have no morals.

I'm trying to track down the history, performance record, and termination date of an employee working out of Sacramento or Walnut Creek. It's a legal matter of some importance. If someone is willing to help leave a reply and we'll figure out how to connect. 100% confidential.

It's amazing how 6 months ago everyone was throwing me under the bus, NOW every call has people showing their faces with fake enthusiasm hoping to be spared the inevitable. I'll be shown the door next week but I am prepared. The rest will have to sweat it out for the next year! Carma is bi--h ain't it?

So why aren’t people quiet quitting? If you can’t control what’s going on control what you can. Reorganize your sock drawer or write a book.

Not in HY but I’m in a hub location and im under the CIB umbrella. We already had layoffs earlier this year and I think we’re just waiting for the axe to fall.

i wish my manager was silent.... instead, they force their sense of doom on their team and talk about how horrible things are, how we're screwed, how they wish they had another job, etc. i've never experienced morale this low in my entire career. every day is depressing... but i'm not leaving without severance.

@tqg+1oPd8n9C not sure why your post is getting down voted....the middle mgrs have barely anyone left to do the day to day work so they have to jump in!!
wonder if there's a re-org plans to calibrate the teams

That sums it up for me perfectly. I only need to last less that a year so it's more entertainment than concern. My manager in new to WF and has no clue about the business and apps.

And yet there are new(-ish) leaders who seem clueless, celebrating this and that, showing pictures of their dogs and kids and beach houses (“this is my happy place”) during the one meeting our group has had all year in which we were hoping to be 1) thanked and acknowledged for our work and 2) told what the he!! Is going on here

It really is unbelievable

HY is beyond painful. A ghost town. Reign of te---r by C-suite which hasn't a care in the world. The dichotomy between the have and have nots is palpable. Beyond painful.

It's like execs are laughing at us. We sit there and hear them talking about yachts, lavish trips, kids expensive colleges and hobbies. Absolute torture.

I swear, they're all sąd!sts.

How do managers feel if they are demoted to individual contributors? People leaving them happily dumping everything. It is rogue/ indecent strategy . Too many cases I hear recently

Thanks for confirming others feel this way too. It helps a bit.
I am not leaving without severance, so I can wait out this situation until I get the call.
I don’t really need any help doing my job but it is a strange way to work.
I used to truly care, and now I just think, whatever, it doesn’t matter.

What's funny is that this kind of thing is pervasive, even in Hudson Yards. Ever see the cubes etc. in the background during the big shots calls? Head set on, heads down, waiting to go home to get some real work done, just like all the rest of us. RTO is a complete failure as far as company performance goes. It has been effective in its true purpose, as another excuse to drive attrition.

Same.

Shifted to a different team several months ago as our manager was displaced. Next to no communication with us or involvement in the larger team so it feels like we are being held on the runway for our displacement. What a cr-ppy feeling, every day.
