Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

is there a hiring freeze across risk and compliance? is that why there are so many contract RCSA positions?

You might want to read more info on indo-chinese relations. Those two nations aren't friends. India and Russia have decent relations directly, which is largely a legacy of the cold war and American support of Pakistan.

@1uko I know you're joking but the pay for India employees is relatively better than for stateside. My lowly hiring manager went over there back in the day and his peers lived like rockstars.

@1yzf

India is aligned w/China. China is aligned w/Russia.

Do you think ANY customer info is safe?

This country is so screwed if India decides it doesn’t want to be our friend anymore.

  1. Interviewd for a bank job. Told they were freezing jobs. I would bet bank branches will begin to close and consolidate

I remember during quarantine there was a hiring freeze for a few months followed by a hiring binge of risk/compliance people. Not sure this is going to be the case with so much being outsourced to india.

Yes. Firm wide. Been in effect quietly for months. Backfilling any jobs takes multiple levels of approval.

They freeze budgets around this time every year everywhere. Tech is over 700M right now. If they plan to cut an group next year they need to make sure the run rate for EOY is less than or equal to the following year run rate.

From what i’ve observed the last couple years, we are in a permanent hiring freeze. However this freeze is lifted for a couple months each year. At this point teams scramble to post jobs, hire people just so they can fill holes, and then out of nowhere the freeze is back on. If person hasn’t started before freeze is re-implemented, then your screwed. As such people tend to post and hire right away instead of holding out for great candidates.

Yes. There has been a hiring freeze for a while in the HCR space.

There are many US hiring freezes across the bank as tech budgets got hammered by Charlie. India hiring is the only pressure relief value for managers. Does India have any good BBQ?

Is the US, you will not find many risk jobs anymore. Some US risk teams have US Contractors - with contract expiration dates.

Risk roles are plentiful in India, however, all thanks to Schart selling out the American worker!
